Mara Sopa Lodge

Spend 2 nights at Mara Sopa Lodge. Located high on the slopes of the Oloolaimutia Hills, the Maasai Mara Sopa Lodge was one of the first safari lodges to be built in the Maasai Mara Game Reserve, a reason why its gardens and trees are so lush and mature. The lodge has 50 guest cottages divided into two wings on either side of the main public areas. Each of these houses has two spacious guest rooms with queen and king-size beds, mosquito nets, electronic safes, dressing tables, en-suite bathrooms, and sheltered verandas that all have views over the gardens and the game reserve beyond.

Nestled in the scenic hills on the edge of the Masai Mara National Reserve, Mara Sopa Lodge offers a tranquil retreat with a perfect blend of comfort and African charm. This mid-range lodge is renowned for its warm hospitality, stunning views, and proximity to wildlife-rich areas. Guests will stay in spacious, en-suite rooms designed with traditional African décor and modern amenities, including cozy beds, private verandas, and large windows offering panoramic views of the surrounding wilderness.

The lodge features a swimming pool, a well-stocked bar, and a dining area serving delicious meals prepared with fresh, local ingredients. In the evenings, enjoy the lodge's cozy ambiance, complete with a fireplace and cultural performances, making it the perfect place to unwind after an adventurous day in the Mara. Situated near the main gates of the reserve, the lodge offers easy access to game drive routes while providing a serene base to relax and recharge. At Mara Sopa Lodge, you will enjoy a memorable stay that combines adventure, comfort, and the beauty of the African savannah.

The lodge also overlooks Lake Nakuru and its surrounding national park, one that is a paradise for bird watchers and wildlife lovers alike. Lake Nakuru National Park is mainly a wooded and bushy grassland with a wide ecological diversity and characteristic habitats that range from the lake waters to the escarpment and ridges. The lodge has 60 rooms, including two inter-connecting rooms and two wheelchair accessible rooms.

Lake Naivasha Sopa Lodge

Conclude with 1 night at Lake Naivasha Sopa Lodge. Set in one hundred and fifty acres of grassland studded with acacia bushes and trees, the resort is not only home to the resident giraffes, waterbucks, and both Vervet and Colobus monkeys. It is also a night stop for the hippos when they leave the lake every night to come and trim the grass on the expansive lawns. With Sopa’s traditional and conscientious care for the environment, all the buildings have been carefully positioned on the property no trees were cut.

As a result of this, the lodge had to come up with a radically innovative and artistic design for the main public area building which now snakes its way between the trees with long and graceful curves. For this reason, the two swimming pools with a children’s section and a pool complex with its bar, snack kitchen, pizzeria, health spa, tennis court, two conference halls with their four differently sized meeting areas, and stables are so widely set apart.

Other facilities in the lodge include sundowners, a gift shop, board games, outdoor dining, free Wi-Fi, sauna, and wheelchair accessible rooms. Rooms include bedroom kettles, hairdryers, telephones, and a television. The lodge also has adjoining rooms, babysitting services, laundry, and turndown service. Other activities you may want to indulge in at the lodge are horseriding, birdwatching, and nature walks.
