Lion Safaris

As you may already know, the lion is often dubbed as the ‘King of the Jungle’. Funnily enough, though, you won’t actually find these magnificent creatures in any of the world’s jungles! However, they can be found across the great continent of Africa. 

As the jeep makes its way on the dusty roads, suddenly it comes to a stop. The ranger motions you to stay quiet. The next second, he points to a bush where a family of lions is busy watching the zebras grazing nearby. All the while, there are also wildebeest and antelopes lurking by.

Though it may sound straightforward, there are many misconceptions about the five species of the African wildlife included within the group.

What is the first animal that springs to mind when thinking about an African safari? The lion, of course, the King of Beasts. And for good reason – with a hair-raising roar and kingly appearance, it truly deserves its reputation. Throughout history, it has stood as a symbol of strength, courage, nobility and chivalry, and is currently present on the coats of arms of numerous European countries.
