Day 1: Arusha to Tarangire National Park
Pick up from your hotel in Arusha at 8 a.m. to leave for Tarangire National Park after breakfast. Tarangire is the third largest national park in Tanzania and is known throughout the world for its dense population of herbivores and large herds of elephants.
Not just the animals, even the large baobab trees inside the national park have become tourist attractions in recent times. The national park's life blood is the Tarangire River, which bisects the park.
The river is also where many animals, both predators and preys, gather around. This provides for an excellent game-viewing opportunity to all the travellers. Once you are done with the day-long safari, you head to Mto wa Mbu public campsite. Have a great shower at the campsite, and then dinner and overnight. Full board meals are included.
Day 2: Tarangire to Serengeti National Park
After breakfast at 8:30 a.m., you drive to Serengeti National Park through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. It takes 4 to 5 hours to reach Serengeti. You also have the option to visit the Olduvai Gorge en route (at your own expense).
Serengeti is Tanzania’s most famous and largest national park as well as one of the most spectacular conservation areas in the world. The endless plains of the park cover some 14,763 square kilometers and include large plains, short-grass plains, kopjes, and lakes.
Enjoy the game drive viewing en route. In the evening, enjoy your dinner and overnight stay at Serengeti Seronera public campsite.
Day 3: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Conservation Area
Wake up in the morning and have breakfast at around 8 a.m. Do some game driving in Serengeti and then in the afternoon after your lunch, you will drive heading to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
Ngorongoro is the largest intact crater in the world, abundant with wildlife including elephants, rhinos, cheetahs, lions, leopards, and hyenas. Once you are done viewing the animals enroute, you arrive at Simba public campsite, for your great shower, dinner, and overnight stay.
Day 4: Descend crater and back to Arusha
Start your day early. Carry a picnic lunch with you and head for the crater's floor at 7 a.m. The floor is teeming with wildlife as very few animals move in and out of its 2,000 feet-high walls.
See lions, elephants, zebras, hippos, flamingos, jackals, rhinos, antelopes, and many bird species. Visit the nook and cranny of the crater, where your driver / guide will take you after contacting other safari drivers in the area.
In the late afternoon, your trip has come to an end and you will be heading to Arusha next. Depending on your plans, you may either extend your stay in Tanzania or transfer to the airport for your onward flight.
