Tarangire Sopa Lodge

Lake Manyara Serena Safari Lodge

Lake Manyara Serena Safari Lodge is located in Mto Wa Mbu in Tanzania, 130 kilometers from Arusha. The lodge is standing on the edge of a towering terracotta escarpment with panoramic views over the glittering alkaline waters of Lake Manyara. The lodge has spacious rooms housed in circular, double-story, and whitewashed buildings.

Serengeti Serena Safari Lodge

Serengeti Serena Safari Lodge is located adjacent to the famous western corridor and Grumeti River nestled on the high saddle of a tree-clad ridge. The lodge has luxurious rooms fully furnished with en-suite facilities all stone built overlooking the plains with private balconies. Their suite offers a spacious bedroom luxuriously appointed with a king-sized double bed with walk-in mosquito net, sumptuous furnishings, dressing area, and marble en suite bathroom. Ilboru Safari Lodge

This is a simple lodge, in quite a bustling residential setting on the outskirts of Arusha. The lodge is set in five acres of beautiful gardens with a very large outdoor pool. Massage and Reiki treatments are popular with climbers. The rooms are in rondavels (round cottages)—two rooms per building. They are simple but adequate. There are certainly better places to stay, but if you just want somewhere that is quite reliably clean and comfy for a good price, Ilboru is a good choice.

There are 48 en-suite rooms—singles, doubles, twins, and family rooms. Four of the rooms are in the main building, and 34 are in the beautiful gardens in thatched rondavels, with two rooms to each cottage. They are simple yet clean and comfortable, and each has a private veranda.

Program

Day 1: Tarangire

Leaving Arusha, you will drive circa 120 kilometers on tarmac and circa 4 kilometers on piste, arriving at the first park—Tarangire National Park. You will be taken on your first game drive, arriving back just before dusk to overnight in luxury tents, self-contained with showers, etc., situated on the slopes overlooking the Tarangire River, a permanent water source, enabling you to enjoy the sight of the wildlife coming to drink.

Day 2: Tarangire - Lake Manyara

Rising early, you go on a game drive, after which you continue your safari to Lake Manyara National Park. You shall go on a game drive in this spectacular park at the base of the western wall of the Great Rift Valley before retiring to your hotel on the rim of the Rift Valley.

Day 3: Cultural Village Tour - Serengeti

Morning cultural village tour, then drive to and enter the world famous Serengeti National Park. You will be game driving from the entrance gate to your hotel in probably the most famous of all national parks in the world!

Day 4: Serengeti

A full day, dawn to dusk, of game driving in the Serengeti National Park. Today you have over 14,000 kilometers in which to explore the ever changing flora and fauna, in this park made famous in the Film “Serengeti shall not die” by Dr. Bernhard Grzimek. You too shall never forget the splendor of the rolling Savannah and open plains, home to the most spectacular migration on our planet!

Day 5: Serengeti - Ngorongoro Crater

The last game drive in Serengeti National Park taking in some of the “Kopjes / Inselbergen” granite outcrops in which many predators love to sit and look out over the plains for their prey. Lunch is a packed lunch. En-Route to Ngorongoro Crater.

Day 6: Ngorongoro Crater

Ngorongoro Crater—a World Heritage Site—where you spend the maximum of six hours allowed game driving! Down inside the world's largest perfect caldera (collapsed volcano) with a permanent residence of circa 30,000 animals. Ngorongoro Crater is a breathtakingly exciting place to see black rhinos in East Africa. Late afternoon exit and return to Arusha.

Day 7: Departure Day

Transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport for those returning home.
