Accommodation
During the safari, you will stay in a tent. The tents are en-suite with showers and portable flushable toilets with camper beds in tents all night. The Xaa Safaris team will set up the tents including bedding (stretcher beds, foldable mattresses, linen, towels), and have your showers ready with warm water. Your tent veranda will have two chairs for that reflection moment.
Program
Day 1
The non-participatory Mokoro safari takes you to the tip of the Delta where you will witness a combination of aquatic wildlife, amazing bird species, breathtaking landscapes, tranquil sunrise and sunsets, and amazing star gazing, all in all, summed up in one word: unforgettable! You will visit the Eastern Delta in a community-controlled wilderness area. Xaa Safaris works with some of the most experienced polers who have mastered the channels as well as are astute in coexisting with aquatic wildlife.
You will break for lunch and stretch your legs in one of the islands, a nice short treat. It is truly a great soothing experience. Besides being very close to the Delta’s tranquility, you will get to learn a lot about this amazing ecosystem called the Okavango Delta.
The Xaa Safaris team will set up a lunch picnic on an island to enjoy breathtaking views. They will share their heritage with you and you will share yours with them. A telescope will enhance your experience of the night under the stars. You will then retreat to your tent equipped with a stretcher bed, a veranda, and an attached bathroom with a flushable toilet, shower, and sink.
Day 2
Rise and shine to say goodbye to the most amazing landscapes with great memories to carry away. But you are not done yet, as you will once more embark on a morning nature walk for 3-4 hours, depending on your fatigue levels.
Upon return at around 10 a.m., you will have brunch before relaxing in the camp. There might be an opportunity to take a dip in the waters, safety permitting. At this time you will be just one part of the ecosystem.
After such a once-in-a-lifetime experience, you will head back to the Mokoro station on the Mokoro as you consolidate your delta experience, where your engine-powered boat will pick you up for a trip to Audi camp to arrive before sunset. Alternatively, you will travel by road back to Audi Camp or your hotel.

You can look forward to one of southern Africa's best wildlife experiences when you visit the Okavango Delta. It's a world like nowhere else, as the waters here rise and fall with islands everywhere. As you travel around, you can expect to see crocs, hippos, giraffes, zebras, elephants, buffaloes, and so many other species, and there's always a good chance of seeing lions, cheetahs, and leopards.
