Make your trip to Kenya unforgettable by joining this safari in Samburu National Reserve with the experienced team of Wild Streamer Tours and Safaris! Samburu National Reserve is one of the lesser-known national parks, but is nevertheless teeming with life. Situated alongside the Ewaso Nyiro River, there is plenty to attract wildlife from the surrounding savannah plains. A cozy and luxurious accommodation will also complement your wildlife exploration in the stunning Samburu.
Accommodation level: Mid range
Samburu Sopa Lodge will be your accommodation during the safari.
Located inside the Samburu National Reserve in Northern Kenya, Samburu Sopa lodge is built atop high ground allowing panaromic views of the vastness of Samburu shrub land and the hills beyond.
The lodge is built to reflect the architectural heritage of the local communities whose sons and daughters make up the majority of the work force at the lodge. Fifteen cottages, each with two bedrooms are built in an arch formation on either side of the public areas to surround the waterhole but leaving a wide gap to allow the animals free movement to the water.
This morning, you will be starting your three days Samburu National Reserve safari tour. You travel by road to Kenya’s northern frontier. Wild and rugged, Samburu is fiercely beautiful with its arid savannas watered by the lovely Uaso Nyiro River. It is also one of Kenya’s most protected areas and home to species only found north of the equator, from the reticulated giraffe to Grevy’s zebras and Beisa oryxes. You also enjoy Samburu Sopa Lodge, the luxurious hostelry set beneath a canopy of acacia trees along the banks of the river. Overnight at Samburu Sopa Lodge or similar.
Dawn breaks in golden bands as you start your day in the bush by scanning the river from your tent’s veranda with a cup of steaming coffee in hand. Before the dew is off the grass, you’re off in pursuit of the elephants, lions, leopards, and cheetahs that thrive in the reserve’s grasslands and acacia woodlands. And so the day is spent in alternating pursuits of exploration in the bush and relaxation in your cozy camp. Overnight at Samburu Sopa Lodge or similar
You enjoy an early morning game drive and return to the lodge or camp for breakfast and then you drive to Nairobi. You have lunch en-route, arriving at your hotel in the late afternoon. End of your three days Samburu National Reserve safari tour
