This 14 days safari tour to great Namibia, Botswana, and Zimbabwe starts from Windhoek in Namibia and ends in Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe. This is a comfort tour that brings you spectacular wildlife viewing in Namibia and Botswana along the watery channels of the Okavango Delta. You will also do a river cruise along the Chobe, and enjoy close encounters with hippo, giraffe, and many other animals that you might not have seen before. Namib Desert Campsite Gondwana Collection Namibia

These campsites are located under acacia trees on the bank of a dry riverbed and offer beautiful views of the ‘fossilized’ dunes of the primeval Namib. They are equipped with electricity, water, grill area and windbreak, and share several communal bathroom facilities. Just a few minutes’ drive from the road to Sesriem, this camping site is ideally suited for nature lovers who want to experience Sossusvlei and at the same time love the silent starlit nights of the Namib Desert.

Ghanzi Trail Blazers is located approximately 5.6 km away from the main road, far enough away to capture the real African bushveldt.

Island Safari Lodge

Island Safari Lodge is set on a 300 acre private island reserve, and is just 10 km away from Maun Airport. It is situated on the banks of the Thamalakane River under a canopy of beautifully lush and green Okavango trees. The lodge overlooks a floodplain of fields and water that are frequented by an abundance of birdlife and the occasional hippo.

The lodge offers a tranquil bush setting that is complimented by the river view, a pool and the iconic tranquil call of the African fish eagle. The accommodation is comfortable and set in the lodge gardens. The lodge comprises of 12 Chalets, 6 Heritage Rooms, and 6 Heritage Family Rooms all with en suite showers, DSTV, and air conditioning.

The lodge has a main bar and restaurant area with seating indoors or out in the gardens. You are able to choose from a la carte menu for lunches and dinners accompanied by our wine list. It is an ideal place to relax alongside flowing waters, or beside one of the swimming pools, using the free WI-FI services and ordering refreshments from the restaurant. For those active bush loving visitors who are interested in adventure, there are many recreational excursions and opportunities available.

Chobe Game Lodge

Counter-balancing the wilderness are restful, air conditioned, en-suite lodgings. Graceful high arches, quarry tiled floors, and barrel vaulted ceilings create an atmosphere of cool tranquillity. Other facilities include a large swimming pool with terrace, a riverside boma area, a stylish bar with an outside terrace, an expansive deck offering magnificent views over the Chobe River as well as conference facilities for business travellers. All meals are catered for in various locations throughout the lodge including the terrace, boma and riverfront deck.

Each of Chobe Game Lodge’s 4 luxury suites has an individual plunge pool set on a private terrace with breathtaking panoramic views of the endless landscape and open plains. Graceful high arches, quarry tiled floors and barrel vaulted ceilings create an atmosphere of cool tranquillity. All 46 rooms are tastefully furnished, each room with hand crafted Rhodesian teak furniture and walls decorated with original African carvings and paintings.

Program

Itinerary (day by day)

Day 1: Windhoek to Sossusvlei (402.6 km / 250 miles)

Guests will depart in the morning from Windhoek and depart to the Sossusvlei area. Along the way, clients will have a stop at the next town Rehoboth were the guests will have the opportunity to buy some snacks and a lunch box as the guide will pull over by a big tree at around 12:00 to 13:00 for lunch. After arrival, guests will have leisure time before going on a sundowner drive to Elim Dune at around 17:30 or 18:00. The next morning, guests will have an early breakfast and go into the park for the Sossuvlei excursion whereby they will be back at around 12:00 for a quick lunch to depart to their next destination.

Day 2: Sossusvlei to Swakopmund (402 km / 249.8 miles)

Guests will have a fresh shower after lunch and depart to Swakopmund from Sossusvlei. Swakopmund is the coastal town of Namibia with cold fresh air. Upon arrival, guests will have time to rest and then refresh themselves for dinner. The next morning, the clients will do quad biking before departing for the next adventure.

Day 3: Swakopmund to Etosha National Park (491.6 km / 30.5.5 miles)

Guests will depart to Etosha today after a fresh shower. On arrival, clients will get lunch. After lunch, if time permits, enter Etosha for an afternoon game drive. Depending on how often you stop today, on entering the park, the first stop would be Okaukuejo where you pay your entry fee and they suggest you pop in at the local shop to purchase some drinks and snacks and most importantly, a map of Etosha which will show you all the waterholes along the way. Etosha has lions, giraffes, rhinos, zebras, springbok, and elephants. This, on top of many lesser and common plains herds and abundant birds makes game viewing in Etosha very exciting.

Day 4: Etosha National Park Area

This morning, guests will have breakfast and go on the full day game drive inside the park. As they are on the drive, the guide will have a stop at Halali at around 12:00 to 13:00 for lunch and after lunch, go on a game drive until afternoon.

Day 5: Etosha to Windhoek (414 km / 257 miles)

Guest will get early breakfast and depart to Windhoek. The guests will do a city tour in Windhoek and after that, have leisure time to explore the capital city. Windhoek is often described as a city with a “continental” atmosphere due to its architecture (historical buildings dating back to the German colonial rule), cuisine, culture, dress, and educational institutions.

Day 6: Windhoek to Ghanzi (526 km / 326.8 miles)

Clients will get breakfast and depart to the west side of Namibia passing by the cattle town of Gobabis where they will get lunch at a shopping mall and then continue their drive going to Ghanzi, Botswana. After arrival, clients will visit the San (Bushman) Village.

Day 7: Ghanzi to Maun (285.1 km / 177 miles)

Guests will grab early breakfast and then take a short drive to Island Safari Lodge situated in Maun. After checking in and freshening up, in the afternoon the clients will depart for a mokoro excursion (for 2 hours). After this activity, clients will get back to the lodge and get ready for dinner.

Day 8: Maun area

Clients will grab early breakfast and then go on the game drive. They will be back at around lunch and after lunch, they have free time.

Day 9: Maun to Khwai Community Area (123.7 km / 76.9 miles)

After breakfast, the clients will depart Awimbawe Guest House which is situated in the Moremi. Throughout the drive, clients will have the opportunity to see and take pictures of animals rooming freely. The Khwai area of the Okavango lies along the northern boundary of the Moremi Game Reserve. This is an unfenced boundary allowing wildlife to move freely between the woodlands in the wet season when water is plentiful and back to permanent rivers and lagoons in the dry season.

Day 10: Khwai Community Area

This next morning clients will have breakfast and then have some leisure time to do extra activities or have time to rest. Khwai (formerly known as North Gate) is a group of sites in the Moremi Game Reserve. The area is well known for its extensive variety of animals and the San Bushmen, who have a growing community nearby. Campsites are grouped together with their own fireplaces but sharing two ablution blocks with solar lights and ensuite showers and toilets. The campsites are not fenced, so be alert.

Day 11: Khwai Community Area to Chobe River Front (117 km / 72.7 miles)

Clients will have a game drive throughout Chobe and its beautiful landscape across the challenging Magwikwe Sand point, which was the shoreline of the ancient inland sea, and then, visit the Makgadikgadi Lake. It has deep sand, so in the wet season, it becomes impassable. Upon arrival, clients will check in and go on a guided walk depending on the arrival time.

Day 12: Chobe River Front

Clients will wake up for breakfast and then have a full day game drive in the Chobe National Park. Expected animals to be seen are lion, wild dog, cheetah, leopard, giraffe, bushbuck, blue wildebeest, and a huge numbers of hippo. Clients will return at around 17:00 after a long day of game viewing and will have a good night sleep after the long day.

Day 13: Chobe River to Victoria Falls

Clients will depart from the airport to Victoria Falls which is in the largest waterfall in the world. Resting on the southern banks of the Zambezi River at the western end of the eponymous falls, this popular tourist town is compact enough to walk around and makes an ideal base for travellers exploring the Seventh Wonder of the World, the unfathomably vast Victoria Falls. After arrival, clients will go on the game drive and get back for dinner.

Day 14: Victoria Falls Rest Camp to Victoria Falls Airport

Clients will refresh in the morning and depart after breakfast to the airport.
