8 Day Masai Mara - Lake Manyara - Ngorongoro Safari in Kenya and Tanzania

Itinerary

Day 1: Nairobi - Masai Mara National Park

After breakfast, pick up from your hotel at around 7:30 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. and drive west for Maasai Mara Game Reserve with lunch en route arriving in time for the evening game drive, Masai Mara Game Reserve which is Kenya’s finest wildlife sanctuary. Including migrants, well over 450 species of animals have been recorded here. Although July, August, and September are the months when the Mara plains are filled with migrating wildebeest and zebra, there is also resident wildlife year-round. Dinner and overnight at the camp.

Day 2: Masai Mara full game drive

You will have a full day of game drive within the reserve. The landscape here is scenic Savannah grassland on rolling hills. The reserve is the best park for game in Kenya as it has an extensive road and track network which allows for close-range viewing and photography. Break for your picnic lunch at the hippo pool, looking out for hippos and crocodiles. Dinner and overnight at the camp.

Day 3: Masai Mara - Nairobi

You will have an early game drive with your guide in this park of Savannah grassland. The driver will drop you at the camp for a full breakfast. Afterward, you will depart to Nairobi with lunch en route. Arriving in the evening to be dropped off at the home.

Day 4: Nairobi - Arusha

Pick you up from your hotel and drop you off at the shuttle bus station. Depart from Nairobi to Arusha. Arriving at Namanga Border for immigration procedures at the border and then proceeding to Arusha to arrive in the afternoon. Check in to the hotel booked on bed and breakfast. Dinner and overnight in a budget hotel in Arusha town.

Day 5: Arusha - Lake Manyara

After breakfast, you will be picked up from the hotel and depart to Lake Manyara lunch en route proceed to Lake Manyara for a game drive at Lake Manyara National Park, famous for its tree-climbing lions and large flocks of flamingos. Dinner and overnight at campsite.

Day 6: Lake Manyara - Ngorongoro

After breakfast, depart with your picnic lunches. The main crater is 165 kilometers long and contains populations of varied species, black manned lions, rhinos, buffaloes, elephants, and other grazing animals. Dinner and overnight at the campsite.

Day 7: Ngorongoro - Arusha

After breakfast and your final game drive, leave Ngorongoro for Olduvai Gorge (optional activity). Lunch at Gorge Museum. After lunch, visit various sites of the gorge to see where the remains of prehistoric man were discovered by the famous archaeologist Dr. L.S.B Leakey and proceed to Arusha for overnight in a budget hotel. Dinner on your own.

Day 8: Arusha - Nairobi

After breakfast, you will depart Arusha with a shuttle bus to Nairobi arriving in the afternoon. Drop at the hotel or the airport to connect your flight to your next destination.
