Night 3: Naivasha Sopa Lodge / Fish Eagle Inn

Naivasha Sopa Lodge

Set on one hundred and fifty acres of grassland studded with Acacia bushes and trees, the resort is not only home to the resident giraffe, waterbuck, and both Vervet and Colobus monkeys, but it is also a night stop for the hippos, when they leave the lake every night to come and trim the grass on the expansive lawns.

With Sopa’s traditional and conscientious care for the environment, they carefully positioned all the buildings on their property so as not to fell any of the trees. As a result, they had to come up with a radically innovative and artistic design for the main public area building which now snakes its way between the trees with long and graceful curves.

It is also why you might well ask just why the two swimming pools with a children’s section and a pool complex with its bar, snack kitchen, pizzeria, health spa, tennis court, the two conference halls with their four differently sized meeting areas, and the stables are so widely set apart.

Fish Eagle Inn

Fish Eagle Inn is a campsite on the banks of Lake Naivasha. It is a convenient stopover for backpackers and budget travelers, as they offer accommodation in both pitched tents and cottages. It has expansive grounds that are well maintained.

Guests get to enjoy boat rides, outdoor games like basketball, volleyball, quad bike riding, mountain bike riding, and swimming. For children, there is a kids’ corner with see saws, swings, slides, and bouncing castles. It is also conveniently located close to Menengai Crater where one can go for treks or a hike on Mount Longonot.

Night 4: Sarova Lionhill

Sarova Lion Hill Game Lodge is nestled along Lion Hill, overlooking the spectacular flamingo pink rimmed Lake Nakuru. Its location affords panoramic views of the lake and the picturesque Lake Nakuru National Park. A short two-hour drive from Nairobi, Sarova Lion Hill Game Lodge is a favorite with residents and visitors to Kenya.
