Basecamp Maasai Mara (2 nights)

Basecamp Masai Mara is a luxurious eco-camp located on the Talek River, bordering the Masai Mara National Reserve. Maji Moto Eco Camp is a wonderful place to simply be, to relax, and just take in the amazing natural beauty. But, there are many interesting ways to increase your appreciation of these Loita Hills and their surrounding savannah. ​Nestled on a hilltop deep in Masai lands and overlooking vast savannah plains. Designed to be part of the environment, constructed in a simple, natural, and eco-friendly way. Offering full-board accommodation included guided walks on surrounding hills and plains.

Program

Day 1: Nairobi - Lake Nakuru National Park

The adventure begins in Nairobi, where you will depart in a private safari vehicle, heading towards the scenic Great Rift Valley. The journey takes you to Lake Nakuru National Park, renowned for its vast flocks of flamingos and diverse wildlife, including rhinos and lions. Upon arrival, you will embark on an exciting game drive, exploring the park’s diverse landscapes.

Midday, you will break for lunch at the luxurious Sarova Lion Hill Game Lodge, nestled within the park, offering panoramic views of the lake. After lunch, the adventure continues with another game drive before you depart the park. Days 2 - 3: Masai Mara Game Reserve

On the second day, after a hearty breakfast at your Nakuru hotel, you will set off for the world-famous Masai Mara National Reserve. The drive offers glimpses of Kenya’s countryside, and by midday, you will arrive at the charming Basecamp Masai Mara Camp. This eco-friendly camp is your home for the next two nights, providing both comfort and a genuine connection to the natural environment.

After settling in and enjoying lunch, the afternoon presents an opportunity for a thrilling game drive in the Masai Mara, a reserve teeming with wildlife, including the iconic Big Five. As the sun sets over the savanna, you will return to the camp for a delicious dinner and a peaceful night surrounded by the sounds of the wild. The third day offers a choice between relaxation and adventure. For those seeking a unique experience, an optional early morning game drive is available, where you can witness the park’s wildlife at their most active.

Alternatively, you may opt for a once-in-a-lifetime hot air balloon ride over the Masai Mara’s expansive plains, ending with a bush breakfast in the heart of the savanna. Later in the day, you will embark on another game drive, exploring different parts of the reserve and encountering various animals in their natural habitat. Day 4: Loita Hills Cultural Adventure

On the fourth day, after breakfast, you will depart for Loita Hills, a region steeped in Maasai culture and natural beauty. Upon arrival at Maji Moto Eco Tented Camp, you will check in and prepare for an afternoon of cultural exploration. The camp offers an authentic Maasai experience, with activities ranging from village visits and traditional rituals to nature walks guided by Maasai warriors. This day is a unique opportunity to connect with the local community and learn about their way of life. Dinner and an overnight stay at the camp complete the day’s experience. Day 5: Return to Nairobi

The final day of your safari begins with a peaceful breakfast at the camp. Afterward, you will begin your journey back to Nairobi. Upon arrival in the afternoon, you have the option of taking a Nairobi city tour, where you can explore local markets and cultural sites. Finally, you will be transferred to your hotel or the airport, marking the end of an unforgettable safari adventure filled with wildlife encounters, cultural insights, and memories to last a lifetime.
