Welcome to Kenya Tru Nomads, a leading provider of incredible safari tours in Kenya. This all-inclusive safari in Kenya is specially designed for those who want to have ample time and comfortable accommodation to explore the most popular parks in Kenya, including Masai Mara, Solio Ranch, Samburu, and Lake Nakuru.
Located inside the Samburu National Reserve in Northern Kenya, Samburu Sopa Lodge is built atop high ground allowing panoramic views of the vastness of Samburu shrub land and the hills beyond. The lodge is built to reflect the architectural heritage of the local communities whose sons and daughters make up the majority of the workforce at the lodge.
Fifteen cottages, each with two bedrooms are built in an arch formation on either side of the public areas, surround the waterhole yet leave a wide gap to allow animals free movement to the water.
Ziwa Bush Lodge is perfectly situated in the naturally beautiful surroundings of Nakuru, Kenya. Ecologically assembled amongst the African trees, they have worked hard to ensure that the lodge would not disrupt the environment.
It offers a luxurious place to stay far enough away from the “busyness of the orphanage” in a very neat, traditionally built lodge situated in a bushy area on the edge of a pond, where the native birdlife is in abundance.
Located high on the slopes of the Oloolaimutia Hills, the Maasai Mara Sopa Lodge was one of the first safari lodges to be built in the Maasai Mara Game Reserve, a reason why its gardens and trees are so lush and mature. The lodge has 50 guest cottages divided into two wings on either side of the main public areas.
Each of these houses has two spacious guest rooms with queen and king-size beds, mosquito nets, electronic safes, dressing tables, ensuite bathrooms, and sheltered verandas that all have views over the gardens and the game reserve beyond.
Kenya Tru Nomads's friendly travel guides will ensure that your safari is safe, enjoyable, and unforgettable. Take a walk on the wild side with them and experience a once-in-a-lifetime trip to see everything that Kenya has to offer! Their team is dedicated to providing the best African safari experiences possible and making dreams come true.
After pick up from the airport or Nairobi hotel / residence at 07:00, you will depart by road, driving north and crossing the equator from the southern to the northern hemisphere and to Samburu Game Reserve, a semi-arid region excellent for photographers.
Arrive at the camp in time for lunch, followed by some leisure hours for a siesta / swim before you depart at around 16:00 for an afternoon game viewing. Then, return back to the camp before sunset.
Samburu is a name of Masai origin, ‘Samburu,’ a traditional leather bag for carrying honey and milk. The region is characterized by vast, open landscapes, dried riverbeds (depending on the season of the year), and red volcanic soil.
Rock outcroppings contrast against the dense woodland vegetation along the banks of Ewaso Nyiro, meaning ‘River of brown water,’ the river that gives life to the reserve.
This full day in the Samburu Game Reserve will be spent searching for the Big Five, the Samburu five, and observing the vast unspoiled scenery during morning and afternoon game viewing drive, watching crocodiles bask on muddy riverbanks and velvet monkeys frolicking in the late afternoon sun.
These five particular animals are usually only found north of the equator: the long-necked gerenuk, the reticulated giraffe which is characterized by its liver-colored geometric patches defined by narrow white lines, the Grevy’s zebra which is smaller than the common zebra and looks more like a horse, the Beisa oryx with a black horizontal stripe running across its lower flank, and the Somali ostrich males which have blue-grey necks and thighs.
In addition, you will have a chance to interact with the Samburu people to learn about their culture.
Solio Ranch or Solio Game Reserve is a privately owned wildlife conservancy located in Kenya's Central Province.
The ranch is a fenced, privately owned protected area geared toward rhino conservation. The 17,500-acre reserve, 22 kilometers north of Nyeri Town, plays a major part in the protection and breeding of black rhinos in Kenya.
The rhino is a member of the 'Big-Five,' which is a key tourist attraction. By the end of 2009, Kenya had 635 black rhinos and 353 white rhinos in various conservation areas around the country. Other wildlife include the buffalo, zebra, giraffe, and plains game such as eland, oryx, impala, waterbuck, Thompson's gazelle, and warthog.
After breakfast, depart for Lake Nakuru National Park, then arrive for lunch at Ziwa Bush Lodge. This will be followed by an afternoon game drive in Lake Nakuru.
On the floor of the Great Rift Valley, surrounded by wooded and bushy grassland, lies the beautiful Lake Nakuru National Park. There, visitors can enjoy the wide ecological diversity and varied habitats that range from Lake Nakuru itself to the surrounding escarpment and picturesque ridges. This national park is ideal for bird watching, hiking, picnic, and game drives.
Have breakfast at the hotel and then depart for Masai Mara. Arrive for lunch at Mara Sopa Lodge, then at 16:00, depart for an afternoon game drive. Explore Masai Mara, Kenya's finest and most outstanding wildlife sanctuary, where gentle rolling grassland ensures that animals are never out of sight.
The first sight of this game park is breathtaking. There is nowhere else on earth to compare to this wildlife marvel. The combination of a gentle climate, scenic splendor, and untold numbers of wildlife makes the Masai Mara National Reserve Kenya's most popular inland destination.
After breakfast, leave for a full day game drive with picnic lunch at the Mara River. Wherever you go in the vast Masai Mara, you will see a frequent amount of wildlife such as Masai giraffe, baboons, warthogs, bat-eared foxes, grey jackals, spotted hyena, topis, impala, hartebeests, and wildebeest. Elephants, buffaloes, zebras, and hippos can also be found in great numbers.
The ultimate action there is, without doubt, the annual wildebeest exodus, the Great Migration. In July and August, millions of these grass eaters move north from the Serengeti in search of lusher grass before turning south again in October to December.
Depart for a full-day game drive at 08:30, enjoying about six hours of extensive game drives in the Mara. This full-day safari game drive will enable you to discover other areas of the Masai Mara Game Reserve. An optional hot air balloon safari can also be organized.
Depart for Nairobi after breakfast, then be dropped off at the airport or your hotel / residence in the afternoon. This marks the end of the tour of unforgettable memories!
George has been traveling around Kenya for more than a decade and his love affair with the bush started when he came face to face with a lion while on a game drive in Tsavo East National Park; the lion jumped and slapped his windscreen. He is an adventure guide with a wide experience. He is a graduate of Utalii College in Kenya and he has very sharp eyes for spotting prey even where you cannot see them. His wide experience and passion for the wilderness have earned him several positive reviews from guests.
Samburu National Reserve is located in the Samburu district of Kenya. The park is a semi-desert that has remained almost undisturbed for many years by mankind. The park is an ideal retreat for those who enjoy natural and calm serenity.
Aside from being the home to “Elsa the Lioness," this park is full of birdlife and Kenyan game animals. It is also a great park to spot Kenyan leopards that are elusive.
The reserve is well known for its rare species of animals unique to the park, such as the long-necked gerenuk, Grevy’s zebra, Baisy oryx, and reticulated giraffe. The Kenyan leopard in this area is also often known to visit the park, mostly in the evening.
The other wildlife present in the park include hippos, cheetahs, and lions, as well as elephants and buffalos. Birdlife is as plentiful as wildlife at Samburu National Reserve, which boasts over 350 different species of birds including vultures, kingfishers, marabous, bateleurs, guinea fowl, and Somali ostriches.

Lake Nakuru National Park is just about 95 miles northwest of Nairobi. For the lovers of bird watching, Lake Nakuru is home to over 400 bird species, including both the greater and lesser flamingoes, as well as home to white rhinos.
The lake is easily accessible by road from Nairobi. It is famous for its flamingos but is also home to other bird species, including African fish eagles and pelicans. Surrounding the lakes are woodlands and grassland inhabited by rhinos and lions.
The Masai Mara is regarded as Kenya’s favorite and most popular game reserve, with over 140,000 visitors per year. The reserve lies approximately 270 kilometers west of Nairobi and covers an area of approximately 1,510 square kilometers, bordering the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania.
Its landscape is mostly open savannah grasslands and acacia shrubland.
Starting any time from late July, large herds of wildebeests and zebras follow the rains and start grazing in the wide and open grasslands of what has become fondly known as “The Mara." They may be late, but they will always make the trip, driven by dry conditions in the Serengeti and led by lightning and thunder to the north.
Come November, they will start the homeward journey bound again for the Serengeti. This annual spectacle is known as the “Wildebeest Migration” and is not to be missed!
At this time of year, you will also see a large number of lions, hippos, crocodiles, and vultures, all of which prey on the weak and young migrating animals. Other game to be found in the Masai Mara at any time of the year include elephant, cheetah, baboons, gazelle, giraffe, jackals, leopard, hyenas, water buffalo, ostriches, and a large variety of antelope and birdlife.
You will be served full-board meals of breakfast, lunch, and dinner during your safari adventure at Samburu, Solio Ranch, Masai Mara, and Nakuru. Water will be provided in the van during game drives.
