Day 2: Maasai Mara Game Reserve - Mara River

After breakfast, you will head out, with a picnic lunch in hand, to the Mara River where you will have the chance to witness a dramatic wildlife river crossing or two. It is quite a sight to see the massed herds take the leap of faith into the Mara or Talek Rivers with the elusive crocodile lying in wait. Dinner and accommodation Mara Enkorok Tented Camp or similar.

Day 3: Maasai Mara Game Reserve

After breakfast, your day will be spent exploring the park in search of the “Big Five” and trailing the wildebeest migration. The Mara offers wildlife in such variety and abundance that you can never take in everything. Over 450 species of animals have been recorded on the reserve. You will easily see lion, rhino, hippo, crocodile, giraffe, wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, warthog, hyena, jackal, wild dog, buffalo, leopard, many kinds of antelope and elephant.

It is in the Mara that perhaps the most spectacular event of the natural world takes place. This is the annual migration of millions of wildebeest and zebra from the Serengeti in search of water and pasture. Following on their heels are the predators of the savannah including the lion, cheetah, wild dog, jackal, hyena, and vulture. Dinner and accommodation Mara Enkorok Tented Camp or similar.

Day 4: Maasai Mara - Lake Nakuru National Park

You will rise early and take off on a sunrise game drive before returning to camp for a hot breakfast. You will then check out and drive to Lake Nakuru National Park, passing through the Great Rift Valley to view the spectacular scenery. You will arrive at the Pink Lake, often called this because of the great masses of flamingos that gather along its shores. You will enjoy a picnic lunch and then pass through Masai Town; arriving at the Golden Palace Resort by evening. You will check in and enjoy the hotel facilities, including soaking in the pool before having dinner and turning in for the night. Dinner and accommodation at Lake Nakuru Flamingo Hill Camp or similar.

Day 5: Lake Nakuru - Amboseli National Park

After breakfast, you will drive to Lake Nakuru National Park for an extensive game drive. Lake Nakuru’s “claim to fame” is anchored with its gorgeous pink flamingos and the over 400 species of birds that live here! The lake itself is a soda lake located on the floor of the Great Rift Valley. Then leave for Amboseli, arriving late afternoon. Have an evening game drive and return to the lodge / camp for dinner and your overnight stay. Dinner and accommodation Amboseli AA Lodge or similar.

Day 6: Amboseli National Park

After breakfast you spend a full day in Amboseli National Park, exploring the photographers' paradise. Amboseli National Park is one of the most popular wildlife sanctuaries in Kenya. It is situated close to the Kenya-Tanzania border, The park lies at the foot of Mt. Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa whose snow-capped summit presents a splendid view on clear days. Amboseli National Park is often referred to as “The Home of Elephants’ some of the largest elephant herds are found here. There is an option to visit a Maasai village. Dinner and accommodation Amboseli AA Lodge or similar.

Day 7: Amboseli - Lake Manyara (Mto Wa Umbu)

After breakfast, you will check out and drive to Tanzania through the Namanga Border with a picnic lunch to enjoy along the way. You will take part in an afternoon village walk where you will get an inside look at the homes and exquisite crafts of the Mto wa Mbu’s many tribes. Visitors will get a chance to meet locals and learn about banana beer, Makonde woodcarvings, and tribal painting techniques. The village walk provides a great introduction to everyday life in Africa. After your visit, you will proceed to Lake Manyara where you will check in at the lodge / camp where you will have dinner and enjoy your overnight stay. Dinner and accommodation Kirurumu Tented camp or similar.

Day 8: Lake Manyara - Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, you will check out and take off on an extensive morning game drive in Lake Manyara National Park with a packed lunch to enjoy along the way. You will later exit the park and drive to the Serengeti National Park in search of the “Big 5”.

The Serengeti is easily Tanzania’s most famous national park and it’s also the largest, at 14,763 square kilometres of protected area that borders Kenya’s Maasai Mara Game Park. It is the annual migration for which Serengeti is perhaps most famous. Over a million wildebeest and thousands of zebra flow south from the northern hills to the southern plains in search of water and fresh grazing land. So strong is the ancient instinct to move that no drought, gorge, or crocodile-infested river can hold them back. The wildebeests travel through a variety of parks, reserves, and protected areas and through a variety of habitats.

Dinner and accommodation Osinon Tented Camp or similar.

Day 9: Serengeti - Ngorongoro Crater

After breakfast, you will check out and a 4-wheel drive vehicle will take you 2000 feet down into the Ngorongoro Crater. The crater is often called “Africa’s Eden” and the “8th Natural Wonder of the World”. A visit to the crater is a main drawcard for tourists coming to Tanzania and a definite world-class attraction. The Ngorongoro Conservation Area (NCA) is home to Ngorongoro Crater which was formed some 2.5 million years ago from a volcanic mountain sinking due to inactivity. It was initially thought to be higher than Tanzania’s famous Kilimanjaro.

The crater has evolved into a unique and integral part of Tanzania’s ecosystem. The crater is actually a caldera, measures 22.5 km across and the rim walls stand 600 m high. Views from within and from the rim are breathtaking! The crater houses 30000 animals and a large variety of birds.

You will enjoy a picnic lunch at the crater floor and later ascend back to lodge / camp for dinner and your overnight stay Rhino Lodge or similar.
