Buhoma Community Rest Camp

Buhoma Community Rest Camp is positioned just close to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park with an inspiration of establishing an excellent lodge with high-quality services that suits both tourists and visitors. Mweya Hostel

Mweya Hostel is graded among the range of budget accommodations found in Queen Elizabeth National Park. With single and double rooms, shared bathrooms, and toilet facilities, the Mweya Hostel was designed. They do have a number of rooms that are self contained and some others can accommodate about four to six people. Participants will stay here for two nights.

Nshongi Gorilla Resort

Nshongi Gorilla Resort located in Nshongi area, one of the reknown gorilla tracking areas in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The lodge, which gives guests comfort and total privacy, is set up on a church land in Rubigiri. Nshongi Gorilla Resort has a guesthouse and cottages.

The guesthouse rooms have big windows with comfortable, spacious rooms, all en-suite with private bathroom and toilet. They are equipped with either a double bed or twin beds with amazing views of the forest. Participants will stay here for two nights.

Namirembe Guest House

Namirembe Guest House is a warm and friendly Christian establishment and subsidiary of church commissioners holding company managed by a team of dedicated and professional staff. It started as a monastery and retreat house for missionaries, which was built by the Church Missionary Society (C.M.S.) in 1920s and remained a retreat house up to 1960, when it was turned into the guesthouse.

The guesthouse ownership was passed on to the Anglican Church (Church of Uganda) and in 1973 to the provincial secretariat and in 1978, to Church Commissioners Holding Company Limited to date. Participants will stay here for one night.

Ngamba Island Tented Camp

This small camp comprises just four tents, all en-suite, on wooden platforms with private decks overlooking Lake Victoria. The camp has been designed within strict ecological guidelines of CSWCT, with due care to the fragile nature of the environment, lighting is solar. Each tent has splendid views across the lake, and is well appointed, featuring a bush shower and eco-toilet. Participants will stay here for two nights.

Queen Elizabeth Safari Camp

Queen Elizabeth Safari Camp is located on the steep slope of Kyambura and is adjacent to Queen Elizabeth National Park. It’s a budget visit safari camp and camp friendly accommodation with a calm environment to make your stay comfortable. The camp is well designed with local materials such as stones, fibers, and the roofs are grass thatched to bring out the African style. Participants will stay here for two nights.

Red Chili Camp

Red Chilli has been operating budget lodges, campsites, and tours in Uganda since 1999. The Red Chilli Hideaway in Kampala first opened its doors on a 2.5-acre piece of neglected land, comprising a scattering of derelict buildings.

Initially catering for campers and overland trucks only, their facilities included just a few cold water showers and some semi-chilled drinks. By contrast, 14 years later, they can now sleep over 100 guests in dorm beds and private rooms, and their extensive facilities on their bigger plot have grown alongside their popularity. Participants will stay here for two nights.

Rwonyo Rest Camp

Rwonyo Rest Camp is a budget facility located in Lake Mburo National Park. It is managed by the Uganda wildlife authority. This camp was constructed using local materials, such as thatched grass plus wood to offer you a true African experience. Various wild animals move around this camp giving guests an opportunity to see game them without embarking on game rides.

This camp comprises of bandas plus tented rooms which are properly furnished. These bandas are built in form of wooden hats and have shared showers while the tented rooms are built on elevated wooden platforms and have private showers. In other words, staying within a tent is more comfortable though more costly compared to bandas. You will find a campground in which you can pitch your own tent. Participants will stay here for two nights.

Mid-range accommodations

Arcadia Cottages Bunyoyi

High up on a ridge overlooking Lake Bunyonyi, their eleven self-contained cottages are arranged around a central lodge building, where guests can enjoy the tasty dishes in their restaurant or relax and take in the truly breathtaking view. They have a 25-seater motor launch, ideal for taking in the lake and its islands on one of their daytime tours or watching the stars on their nighttime stargazing tour. Participants will stay here for two nights.

Arcadia Lodge Lake Mburo

Located 2 kilometers from the park headquarters at Rwonyo, Arcadia Lodge is an ideal base from which to explore the park on a game drive, spot crocodiles and hippos on the launch trip, or really get close to nature on a guided walking safari.Their eight self-contained cottages are arranged around a central lodge building, where guests can enjoy the tasty dishes in their restaurant or relax and take in the stunning view from their newly built raised deck.

In the evenings, guests can wind down from an exciting day's safari around their open fire, sipping on a cold drink from the bar while impala, warthog, and the occasional hippo munch on the grass just yards away. Participants will stay here for two nights.

Gift of Nature Lodge

The Gift of Nature Lodge is located in the Kabale, Ruhija Country, the ideal place to stay while tracking gorillas in the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The lodge is situated near to the famous gorilla trekking site and offers a peaceful atmosphere.

Accommodation is offered in comfortable, elegant rooms, all of which offer local traditional decor to give you a feeling of Ugandan culture. Guest accommodation comprises nine twin or double rooms and two triple rooms, all en-suite, two family cottages each with two bedrooms (one king and one twin), a common living room, one extra bed, and a shared bathroom for all, as well as three dormitory rooms with three, five, and 10 double-decker beds all with shared or common bathroom facilities and a private camp site.

Rooms also have wall fans for warmer days, lounge seat, a veranda with two director’s canvas chairs, and clothing rack, all beds fitted with a mosquito net, as well as consistent hot and cold showers. Day 1: Journey from Kampala to Murchison Falls National Park

After breakfast, your Uganda tour guide will transport you from Kampala to Murchison Falls National Park in the north-western part of Uganda. You’ll stop in Nakasongola to see the rocks there. They’re pretty amazing too. You will have an unforgettable experience at the game park, seeing the Nile squeeze through a seven-meter canyon.

As it falls, it roars with a thunderous roar and also creates a beautiful rainbow in the plume of water droplets. This is a scene to look forward to. It's one of the safari highlights. You will spend your night and have dinner at Paraa Safari Lodge or Red Chilli Rest Camp.

Day 2: Game drive and Nile cruise

After breakfast in the morning, your guide will take you for a Murchison Falls game drive where you will see hippos, elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, waterbucks, lions, Uganda kobs, and a variety of bird species, and even leopards if you’re lucky.

After your lunch, your tour guide will lead you to a two-hour boat cruise on the River Nile where you will catch amazing sights. Rest assured you will be seeing hippos and crocodiles at a close range along the riverbanks. After the boat cruise, you will return to the lodge for dinner.

Day 3: Journey from Murchison Falls National Park to Kibale National Park for chimpanzee trekking

Your day will begin with a breakfast, after which you will head straight to Kibale National Park. The park consists of 13 primates’ species. There’s a lot to see along the way to Kibale National Park like the changing vegetation, villages, and many more. You will have your lunch at your accommodation after checking in.

Day 4: Chimpanzee tracking in Kibale Forest

Your day will begin with a breakfast as you prepare for the day’s chimpanzee trekking activity. After the breakfast, your safari guide will drive you to the headquarters for briefing before embarking on the chimpanzee trekking journey.

During the activity, you will see wildlife including Grey Cheeked monkeys, Red Colobus monkeys, Red Tailed monkeys, Black and White Colobus monkeys, Blue monkeys, baboons, and many others. After this activity, you will return to your hotel for lunch. After your lunch, you will continue for bird watching in Bigodi Wetland Swamp, after which you’ll return to your hotel for dinner.

Day 5: Journey from Kibale National Park to Semliki National Park

Very early in the morning, after your breakfast, your safari guide will drive you from Kibale National Park to Semliki National Park. Some of the highlights to look forward to are the nocturnal dwellers like the white tailed mongoose and slender mongoose, standard and pennant-winged nightjars, cats, hyenas, leopards, and many more. This is the only place in Uganda where you can do a spotlit night drive. This game park is full of surprises.

Day 6: Chimpanzee trekking in Semliki National Park

After your breakfast in the morning, you’ll head to the forest to track the chimpanzees. They tend to disappear during the day, so it's preferable to trek them either at dawn or dusk. There are also variety of bird species which are found in this picturesque forest. In the afternoon, you may relax by the pool or go for a game drive in the park, depending on your preference.

Day 7: Journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After your breakfast, your safari guide will drive you to Queen Elizabeth National Park. You will get there around lunch time, so you’ll have your lunch at your hotel. After that, there’s a fun boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel that will be waiting for you. You will see a variety of wildlife which includes many species of birds like the African skimmer, jacana, and the rare shoebill, among others.

After all this fun, your safari guide will drive you back to your hotel where you’ll have your dinner. After dinner, you’ll go for a night game drive to see and experience the nightlife of the animals. You’ll be driven back to your accommodation after the drive. You can enjoy the sounds of the African night while you sleep.

Day 8: Chimpanzee trekking and wildlife safari at Queen Elizabeth Park

The day will start by having a breakfast, after which your safari guide will drive you to Kyambura Gorge in Queen Elizabeth National Park for chimpanzee trekking. You will also be able to plenty of wildlife at the same time. After chimpanzee trekking activity, your safari guide will take you back to your hotel where you’ll relax.

In the afternoon, you’ll go for a game drive around the park, where you’ll see hyenas, lions, leopards, giant forest hogs, hippos, huge herds of buffalos, and elephants. You’ll also see the Ugandan kobs and crested cranes, plants, and trees, among others. After the drive, you’ll be taken back to your hotel for dinner.

Day 9: Journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After your breakfast at your hotel, your safari guide will take you for a game drive, after which he’ll drive you to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. You will pass through Ishasha and you might as well have an opportunity to see the mountain climbing lions.

Day 10: Mountain gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After an early morning breakfast, preferably at around 5:30 a.m, your safari guide will take you to the park headquarters, where you’ll be briefed about the gorilla trekking activity by the park rangers. The landscape of Bwindi National Park is simply beautiful. The vegetation is thick and evergreen, thanks to the frequent rainfall throughout the year.

The fun of this activity starts right about the time you find the legendary giants, the mountain gorillas. Make sure you’re armed with your cameras because this is a moment you’ll want to revisit very often. It's a major highlight, so be prepared for the thrill. You’ll watch the gorillas feeding and nursing their babies while others play. After this activity, you will head back to your hotel for the night.

Day 11: Journey from Bwindi Impenetrable National Park to Rwanda

After your breakfast, your safari guide will drive you to Rwanda and you’ll get there in the evening. You may go for a city tour to visit the Rwanda markets, the Franco-Rwandan cultural center, and the genocide memorial if there’s enough time.

Day 12: Parc Nationale des Volcans Gorilla trekking in Rwanda

After your breakfast, your safari guide will take you to the Parc Nationale des Volcans headquarters for briefing before you go for gorilla trekking. Do not forget to carry lunch because the trek is a bit lengthy, taking between two to nine hours to find the gorillas.

Day 13: Journey from Rwanda to Lake Bunyonyi

After your breakfast, your tour guide will drive you to Lake Bunyonyi, where another amazing adventure will be waiting for you. The adventure at Lake Bunyonyi is quite rewarding and you’ll enjoy the beautiful scenery and lots of species of birds and wildlife.

You’ll have lunch at your accommodation hotel, after which you’ll go for the activities, including guided canoeing, island exploration, and wildlife viewing. You will spend your night and have your dinner at your preferred accommodation.

Day 14: Exploring Lake Bunyonyi

After your breakfast in the morning, you will go for canoeing, which takes between two to four hours. You will also enjoy the beautiful scenery and a variety of wildlife at the lake. You’ll spend the night at at your chosen hotel or you can take a night canoe cruise.

Day 15: Journey from Lake Bunyonyi to Lake Mburo National Park

Your day will begin with breakfast, after which your safari guide will take you to Lake Mburo National Park. You will check into your booked accommodation. Some of the action to look forward to at Lake Mburo National park includes a boat cruise on where you will see zebras, crocodiles, hippos, eland, impalas, buffalos, and a variety of bird species like bush shrike, papyrus, the rare shoebill, Africa fin foot, fish eagle, and many more.

Day 16: Game drives in Lake Mburo National Park

You’ll have two game drives for this day. After your breakfast at your hotel, your safari guide will take you for two game drives in the morning and evening respectively. You will get to see plenty of wildlife like zebras, crocodiles, hippos, eland, impalas, buffalos, and a variety of bird species like bush shrike, papyrus, the rare shoebill, Africa fin foot, fish eagle, and many more.

Day 17: Journey from Lake Mburo National Park to Kampala

After breakfast, your safari guide will drive you to Kampala to the hotel of your choice. You’ll stop at the equator along the way for photos and shopping.

Day 18: Chimpanzee trekking in Ngamba Island

After your breakfast, your safari guide will drive you to the shores of Lake Victoria, where you’ll continue to Ngamba Island for your chimpanzee trekking activity. You’ll arrive at the chimpanzee sanctuary, will be briefed about the sanctuary, and then go spend some time with the chimps as they feed. Later on, you will go for a nature walk on the island with the young chimps.

Day 19: Chimpanzee habituation in Ngamba Island

After your breakfast, you will go and spend some more time with the chimpanzees. You’ll interact with them as they feed and play around and walk hand in hand with you.

Day 20: More Chimpanzee viewing on Ngamba Island

After breakfast, your safari guide will drive you to Kampala to your preferred hotel or to the airport for your flight, depending on your arrangements.
