Day 1: Nairobi - Masai Mara
The Kenya and Tanzania safaris' first destination is Masai Mara National Reserve. Leave Nairobi in the morning and head to Masai Mara via the Rift Valley viewpoint. You drive west to Masai Mara to arrive at Narok town for a final shopping.
You will arrive in Masai Mara in time for lunch at your camp or lodge. After lunch, you will have an orientation game viewing. Masai Mara is world-renowned for its exceptional wildlife. The expansive Masai Plains are trampled by herds of zebras, elephants, rhinos, lions, and more and give a highlight of your safari experience. Dinner and overnight will be at your camp / lodge.
Day 2: Full day exploring the Masai Mara Plains
This safari provides you with the option of starting the day with a balloon safari, which can be arranged at an extra cost (480 USD per person). Your day will start with breakfast at the camp, and by 8 a.m. you will leave with picnic lunches for an extensive game drive.
Masai Mara is host to a variety of wildlife and has a higher concentration of wildlife compared to any other part of Africa. Listen to all the sounds and sights to get a truly unique experience. Venturing through the Masai Mara plains, you will get to the Mara River, which is a point of migration and a point to spot the crocodiles and hippopotami. The picnic lunch will be beside a hippo pool, viewing the hippos and crocodiles.
In the months of July–October, you can see the great migration if you are lucky, which is one of the best annual spectacles in this reserve, famous all over the world. Dinner and overnight provided at your camp/lodge.
Day 3: Masai Mara - Lake Nakuru
After breakfast, the team will take you to the Maasai village for a cultural experience where you will get to listen to the beautiful stories of the Maasai people. As you exit the park and head on to Lake Nakuru on the way, you will marvel at the scenic views of the Great Rift Valley, and the beautiful scenery will leave you with a deeper appreciation of your safari experience. Dinner and overnight will be at the hotel.
Day 4: Lake Nakuru - Nairobi
Today, you will discover Lake Nakuru National Park, which is one of the most beautiful national parks in Kenya. It is where over a million flamingos can be found, turning the lakeshore pink. The national park is also home to over 400 species of birds, offering you sweet sounds and a nature experience like no other. Lake Nakuru is also home to the endangered black and white rhinos as well as the Rothschild giraffes. Zebra herds can also be found grazing on the rich grass found here. Afterwards, you will exit the park and head back to Nairobi and overnight in a hotel. Dinner on your own.
Day 5: Nairobi - Arusha
Breakfast at your hotel, and then an organized shuttle bus will pick you up for your safari, arriving at the Arusha Charity Hotel booked on bed and breakfast, dinner on your own.
Day 6: Arusha - Serengeti
Depart Arusha in the morning and drive to Serengeti with lunch en route. You will arrive at Serengeti Plains in time for an afternoon game-viewing session. Serengeti National Park, which is widely known for its annual wildlife spectacle, the great migration of wildebeest. The plains are also home to a resident population of elephants, cheetahs, lions, giraffes, and birds. Dinner and overnight shall be at the temporary fixed tents in Seronera Campsite or similar.
Day 7: Serengeti - Ngorongoro
After breakfast, you will have your final Kenya-Tanzania safari game drive in Serengeti National Park, known for the great wildebeest migration and many animals. Later depart to Ngorongoro Crater with your lunch en route, arriving in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight in basic tents.
Day 8: Ngorongoro Crater - Arusha
After breakfast, leave with a packed lunch and descend 600 m into the Ngorongoro Crater for a 6-hour game drive. Ngorongoro Crater has a stunning landscape consisting of vast expanses of woodlands, savannah forests, and highlands. This, combined with a high concentration of wildlife, ranging from the endangered rhino species to the big cats, which include the lions, the elusive leopard, cheetahs, etc., and others like zebras, buffaloes, warthogs, hippos, and the giant African elephants, makes it one of the most beautiful natural wonders in the world. Later, drive back to Arusha, with a drop-off at your hotel, booked on a bed and breakfast basis—dinner on your own.
Day 9: Arusha - Zanzibar or Nairobi
After breakfast, you will be picked up from the hotel and dropped off at the airport to connect your flight to Zanzibar in the evening, dropped off at the hotel, or dropped off at the shuttle bus, which will transfer you to Nairobi.
