Program
Day 1: Transfer to Zziwa Rhino Sanctuary
On arrival at Entebbe International Airport, the Verdoro Safaris driver-guide will pick you up and provide a brief introduction to Uganda, the Pearl of Africa.
Verdoro Safaris will have an early breakfast before driving to Zziwa Rhino Sanctuary, with bird-watching stops along the way to spot some rare species of the region. On arrival at Zziwa, you will rest at the lodge. As the heat of the day begins to dissipate, you will go on a rhino trek. You will spend around two hours walking to the rhinos and observing them. Although permanently guarded, the rhinos live as wild animals. This is a unique opportunity to spend time with these giants while supporting their reintroduction to the wild in Uganda.
After the rhino trek, you will go on a dusk birding walk. With over 300 species of woodland, savannah, and wetland birds in the sanctuary, you are sure to be satisfied. Dinner will be served in the peaceful environment of the lodge.
Day 2: Early morning bird watching and transfer to Masindi
Verdoro Safaris will have a very early start to the day, heading into the sanctuary wetlands on foot and by canoe in search of the shoebill and other water species of the Zziwa wetland.
Day 3: Bird watching at the Royal Mile
Verdoro Safaris will head out early through the thick forest to the famous Royal Mile.
Day 4: Bird watching at the Nile Delta
Your scheduled boat will collect you from the front of the lodge shortly after dawn, and you will head downstream to the delta of the river in search of shoebills.
Day 5: Game drive in Murchison Falls National Park
You will have an early wake-up and a full breakfast before heading to Paraa to cross the Nile for the morning game drive.
Day 6: Transfer to Entebbe
Verdoro Safaris will rise early to transfer from the park to Airport View Hotel Entebbe.
Day 7: Botanical gardens birding and end of trip
Verdoro Safaris will have an early rise depending on your departure time at the airport.
