Accommodation

You will stay at Hapuwani Lodge, Korean Garden Lodge, Sunbird Nkopola Lodge, and Thawale Lodge in Malawi.

Thawale Lodge (1 night)

Thawale Lodge is situated in Majete Wildlife Reserve, in the Lower Shire Valley, a one-hour drive from Blantyre. It provides excellent accommodation for visitors wishing to enjoy game viewing in the newly restocked reserve.

Long neglected, Majete has been the scene of an impressive program of relocation. To date, 2,559 animals from 14 different species have been reintroduced, including the Big Five - leopards, elephants, buffaloes, black rhinos, and lions.

Other mammals reintroduced are eland, sable, waterbuck, nyala, hartebeest, impala, zebra, warthog, and bush pig. Majete is one of the only reserves in Malawi where the Big Five can be viewed all year round. The rebirth of Majete has been the work of the African Parks Network organization.

Situated within Majete, around a serene floodlit waterhole that attracts a variety of wildlife, Thawale Lodge is a peaceful haven from which to experience Majete. Completely unfenced, the camp is regularly visited by wildlife. The lodge offers six double and twin-tented chalets, all ensuite, and each with its own private veranda overlooking the waterhole.

The more luxurious chalet has a unique open-air bathroom built among the rocks with a shower and a sunken bath and views of the floodlit waterhole.

The lodge also has a newly built family chalet. With two ensuite rooms, a kitchen, and a small living area, it can accommodate up to six people. The chalets are spaced out to offer visitors privacy and an individual bush experience. A communal lapa (traditional lounge area) with a fully-staffed kitchen is available in the center of the camp.

Fresh meals are served in the beautiful thatched restaurant and bar with a birding veranda. Thawale is fully electrified, and chalets have sockets, phone network, and fans.

Hapuwani Lodge (1 night)

Hapuwani Lodge is so close to the Mulanje mountain, which is characterized by densely populated plains situated at 600 to 700 meters above sea level. From the plains, it rises abruptly to high plateau basins at 1,800 to 1,900 meters, surmounted by rock peaks to its maximum altitude of 3,002 meters above sea level, the Sapitwa Peak.

The mountain is the highest both in Malawi and in South Central Africa. From some of the rooms and the swimming pool area, you can have a better view of the scenery.

Sunbird Nkopola Lodge (1 night)

Sunbird Nkopola Lodge is the premier beachside resort in the south of the lake, 24 kilometers north of Mangochi. Set amidst tropical vegetation, baobab trees in its own beach-lined bay, the hotel has some of the most spectacular sunrises and views in Africa.

The Mbira Restaurant offers local and international cuisine. Overlooking the palm-lined beach, the Malindi Bar is a wonderful spot to watch fish eagles swooping over the crystal clear lake. The hotel also offers a comprehensive range of water sports facilities, a swimming pool, and free Wi-Fi. Conferences can be taken care of by the adjoining Sunbird Lakeshore International Conference Center.

Korean Garden Lodge (1 night)

The Korean Garden Lodge has been designed to meet all your needs and expectations in Lilongwe, Malawi. The rooms range from standard to luxury. The Korea Garden Lodge offers a blend of convenience, personable service, and luxury. Situated just 25 minutes from Lilongwe Airport, its central location offers quick and easy access to Lilongwe's business centers, leisure attractions, and shops.

Nestled in three acres of beautifully landscaped gardens, it is invigorating, relaxing, and worthwhile.
