The Maasai Mara reserve is Kenya’s most popular game park in Kenya. Masai Mara hosts an amazing concentration of wildlife. You are guaranteed to see the Big Five. Lions abound throughout the park as do leopards, cheetah, hyenas, giraffe, impala, wildebeest, topi, baboons, warthogs, buffalo, zebra, elephants, and of course hippos and crocodiles lurking in the Mara River. This holiday starts and ends in Nairobi. You will ride in a van ideal for game viewing and photography.
The Mara offers wildlife in such variety and abundance that it is difficult to believe. Over 450 species of animals have been recorded here. It is in the Mara that perhaps the most spectacular event of the natural world takes place. This is the annual migration of millions of wildebeest and zebra from the Serengeti, Tanzania in search of water and pasture. Following on their heels are the predators of the savanna such as lion, cheetah, wild dog, jackal, hyena, and vultures.
Day 1
You will depart Nairobi in the morning and drive to the floor of the Rift Valley straight to Maasai Mara Game Reserve arriving the camp where you will enjoy your lunch. Later, you will proceed with your afternoon game drive. You will then have dinner and stay overnight at a tented camp. The transmit time will take approximately five hours and thirty minutes.
Day 2
You will spend the full day exploring the park where you will have the best opportunity of spotting the Big Five which are lion, leopard, buffalo, rhino, and elephant. Game drives are flexible, with the option of going out with picnic lunch boxes to spend entire day in the the park, or you can choose to have early morning and late afternoon game drives.
You will also have the option of visiting a local Maasai village with an additional cost of 20 USD per person. All meals and overnight stay will be at your tented camp. Other than that, if you wish to go on a balloon safari, it can be arranged at an extra cost of 450 USD per person.
Day 3
You will enjoy another early morning game drive in Mara, then depart after breakfast and drive back to Nairobi arriving approximately at 16:00. You will be then be dropped at your hotel or go straight to the airport for onward flight home. The transmit time will take approximately five hours and thirty minutes.
