Accommodation
Bweza Gorilla Lodge is a beautiful midrange lodge located near Bwindi Impenetrable National Park with beautiful views of the park. It is only 15 minutes drive from the starting point. Accommodation depends on availability and they will only reserve it only after booking the safari. In case the accommodation is not available, alternative accommodations with the same standard will be reserved after consulting with you.
Program
Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Today, you will be met by a representative of Peak Cruise Safaris who will pick you up from your hotel in Kigali or Kigali international Airport depending on what time you arrive at the airport.
He will brief you about your safari and then transfer you to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park or Mgahinga National Park depending on availability of Gorilla trekking permits. In case you want to visit the Genocide Memorial Museum, please talk to your guide / driver about it, he will take you there. It's complementary.
You will travel through a beautiful countryside often referred to as the Switzerland of Africa due to its beautiful rolling hills. You will get to your lodge in time for lunch.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking experience
Today is the day you have been waiting for. After early breakfast, your driver and guide will transfer you to the starting point for briefing about the gorilla trekking adventure you are about to take. You will be briefed by experienced ranger guides and trackers from Uganda Wildlife Authority.
Gorilla trekking can be physically demanding but the whole experience is amazing and worth it. You will track a habituated family which is comfortable with human presence. Once you meet these beautiful gentle giant gorillas, you will be allowed one hour with them, watching how they interact with their young ones, vocalize and feed.
You will then have your lunch away from them in the forest and return to the park offices for a small ceremony. Your guide / driver will then transfer you back to your hotel in Kigali. End of the trip. Accommodation for tonight is not included but can be added at an extra cost.
Location
Protecting a pristine landscape of steep forested hills bordering the Congo, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is best known for harboring around 45% of the global mountain gorilla population.
Gorilla trekking can also be done in Mgahinga Gorilla National Park if permits are not available in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. If you want to trek gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, please book your permit early. In high season, permits get sold out.
