Sample itinerary

Day 1 - Antananarivo - Andasibe

Transfer from the international airport, then drive to Andasibe. Take the national road 02 towards East. After two hours on the main road, stop in Pyereras at a reptile park to see chameleons and geckos. After the visit, you will head to Andasibe. Overnight stay at the lodge.

Day 2 - Andasibe

After breakfast, let’s visit Mantadia National Park. 14 kilometers from Andasibe village and dirty road, you will find a primary forest. Get ready for a three-hour hike and visit the primary forest to discover the famous black and white ruffed lemur, red-bellied lemur, and common brown Lemur. Then, drive back to the lodge. Don’t miss the visit to Andasibe village. In the evening, you will enjoy a night walk with your private guide. You will spot the smallest lemur called mouse lemur and other species of chameleon followed by a drive back to the lodge.

Day 3 - Andasibe

After breakfast, you will visit Andasibe National Park to see the largest lemur called Indri-indri or Babakoto Malagasy. Other species of lemur and birds like Madagascar paradise flycatcher and crested Drongo can be seen. Get ready for a four-hour hike followed by lunch at the lodge. In the afternoon, you will drive to Vakona Reserve where you can see other species of lemurs and touch them. Lemurs that are possible to be seen are Eastern bamboo lemur, black and white ruffed lemur. After the visit, you will head back to the lodge.

Day 4 - Andasibe - Palmarium (140 kilometers)

Drive Manambato where your speed boat awaits you. Get ready for an hour-and-a-half boat ride to Palmarium, followed by an afternoon of free time for leisure. At the end of the day, the boat will pick you up to go for a visit to the exclusive Aye Aye.

The Aye Aye (Daudentonia madagascariensis) is one of the rarest species of lemur. They are nocturnal lemurs that are considered by the local people evil. In the Palmarium Reserve, not long time ago, they found some Aye Aye in this protected area and then decided to take good care of them until today. It is a very rare opportunity to spot this kind of species. Overnight to Palmarium.

Day 5 - Palmarium Reserve

After breakfast, you will visit the Palmarium Reserve with your guide. Get ready to meet some other species of lemurs. After the visit, walk back to the lodge. Overnight at the lodge.

Day 6 - Palmarium - Manambato - Antananarivo (250 kilometers)

After breakfast, transfer by boat, followed by a drive to Antananarivo. Overnight at Antananarivo.

Day 7 - Antananarivo (transfer)

After breakfast, enjoy a city tour, and if the time allows, drive to the souvenir market followed by a transfer to the airport according to the flight schedule.
