5-Daagse Dubbele Gorilla Trekking Safari in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, Oeganda

Day 1: Welcome to Entebbe, Uganda

Welcome to Uganda! Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, a Mond Safaris representative will greet guests as soon as they disembark from the plane. They will assist through customs and baggage claim before introducing the tour guide. Guests will then be transferred to the hotel for relaxation.

Day 2: Fly to Bwindi and community walk

After breakfast, the guide will pick guests up from the hotel and drive them to Entebbe Airport to catch a domestic flight to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in Uganda. Upon arrival at the airstrip, representatives will welcome guests and drive them to the lodge to refresh. Later, after lunch, guests may take a leisurely community walk, interacting with locals and learning about their traditional way of life.

Days 3 and 4: Gorilla trekking experience

Today, guests will prepare for an unforgettable gorilla trekking experience in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Breakfast is around 06:00, followed by arrival at the tracking center at 07:15. A briefing will be provided on the dos and don’ts of gorilla trekking. Guests will then be divided into groups of a maximum of 8 individuals to visit a gorilla family.

Accompanied by experienced guides and armed rangers, guests will embark on a search for mountain gorillas through dense forests. Upon encountering the gorilla family, they will have the opportunity to spend an hour observing these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat. The duration of the trek can vary from 1 hour to 6 hours, depending on the gorillas’ location.

Afterward, guests will return to the starting point to receive a gorilla trekking certificate before heading back to the lodge for relaxation and an overnight stay.

On day 4, after breakfast, the process from the previous day will be repeated. However, this time, guests will visit a different gorilla family. Another trek provides the chance to observe different groups and witness their captivating behaviors. After the trek, guests can unwind at the lodge and reflect on the remarkable encounters.

Day 5: Retreat to Kampala city / Entebbe Airport

Start the day with a delicious breakfast at the lodge, preparing for departure. Around 06:30, guests will be escorted to the airstrip for the flight back to Entebbe Airport. Upon arrival around noon, there will be ample time to catch a connecting flight. Alternatively, for evening departures, a day room at a nearby hotel can be arranged for relaxation until departure time.
