Being passionate about geology he is able to explain to you the history of soil formation.
Close to nature and wildlife, he will captivate you by telling you about the life of different animal species that can be admired in Southern Africa, whether on a safari in Etosha Park or by walking through the Namib Desert in the middle of the dunes of the oldest desert in the world. Mao also loves the connection to humans and will gladly introduce you to the indigenous people of Namibia (Himba, Bushmen, Herero, etc.) He spends his free time between family life, his profession as a guide, basketball training, and fishing.

Born in California, USA with Caribbean and german roots, she early learned how to appreciate her uniqueness. She leaves space for you to unfold your true self, helping to embrace what makes you unique. Nateea is happy, ambitious, and peace-loving and fell in love with the versatility of the world. Her mission is to spread her affection for yoga in the most beautiful places the world has to offer.
Namibia is known to be one of the safest and cleanest places to visit in all of Africa, getting lost in the maze of open space. It is located in Southern Africa with a long coast along the Atlantic. The country is divided into 14 regions with the capital and largest city Windhoek, where you will meet and start the journey together.
Namibia has a unique civil structure because it is huge but with only about 3 people per square kilometer.
Along the coast and north, you have the oldest desert in the world, the Namib Desert. There lies the area of Sossusvlei, which you will visit first. The Namib is a treasure in the literal sense of the word, for its richest source of diamonds on the planet, but for you, its great glory lies in the stark beauty of its dunes. Here you will find the famous dunes "Dune 45" and "Big Mama" and the vast sand pan called Deadvlei, where only a few species are able to survive.
Your journey takes you further to a town called Swakopmund. The city's German origins are quite pronounced in beautiful old German colonial buildings throughout the city, making an even starker contrast for this town sitting at the edge of the Namib Desert.
The Portuguese called it the "Gates to Hell", the Bushmen called it "The Land God Made in Anger". The orange lunar-like sand formation which converges into the ocean is home to ghostly shipwrecks which can be found along the coast, the flourishing Cape Cross Seal Colony, and desert-adapted elephants which can be spotted sliding down the sand dunes. These elephants are so rare and their way of life is so special, that they are under the constant supervision of scientists and they even gave them names.
But these are far not all of the animals which can be found in Namibia. Over 200 species of mammals like, zebras, cheetahs, kudus, buffalos, baboons, etc., and of course the national animal, the oryx, can be found, as well as over 600 species of birds and over 4300 plants. The abundant wildlife we will discover in the unique Etosha National Park, which is known for its large salt pan, which can be seen from space.
The park is malaria free, accessible in a regular car and the rest camps provide a range of accommodations as well as restaurants, viewing decks, shops, and of course lots and lots of animals.
As you are experiencing a self-catering glamping adventure, you will stop at a supermarket first to buy the groceries you will need during the trip, maybe filling up some more in Swakopmund before heading to Etosha Park.
Included in the package are a 6-day vegetarian, basic breakfast and dinner meal (which we will prepare together in the sense of Karma Yoga), coffee, tea, juice and water. Should you require any additional groceries or special needs, you are more than welcome to get them at the supermarket at your own expense. In Swakopmund, you will eat dinner and breakfast at a restaurant (included in the price).
