Day 1

  • Arrival and transfer to a hotel in Kigali
  • Overnight in Kigali city centre

Day 2: Departure to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest / Uganda (171 km / 106 miles)

  • Gatuna border crossing / African border crossing experience
  • Riding to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest: a true African Jungle, known for its exceptional biodiversity, with more than 160 species of trees, vines and other vegetation make it almost 'impenetrable'. And home to the endangered mountain gorilla
  • Overnight in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

Day 3: Departure to Queen Elizabeth National Park (140 km / 87 miles)

  • Riding through Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
  • Riding through Queen Elizabeth National Park, afternoon safari game drive
  • Overnight in Queen Elizabeth National Park

Day 4: Departure to Kibale Forest (165 km / 103 miles)

  • Lake Kivu: the lake covers a bed of so much toxic methane, which Each eruption of the nearby Nyiragongo volcano raises fears the gas may escape and poison the neighboring towns and cities

Day 8: Departure to Lake Kivu in Karongi (135 km / 84 miles)

Day 10: Departure to Akagera National Park (220 km / 137 miles)

  • The Akagera National Park is Central Africa’s largest protected wetland and the last remaining refuge for savannah-adapted species in Rwanda
  • Exploring the south-east wet land of Rwanda: Lake Sake and Lake Mugesera
  • Overnight in Akagera National Park

Day 11: Safari game drive in Akagera National Park (not riding bikes today)

  • Starts from 7:30 a.m. to around 4 p.m.
  • Safari game drive in Akagera National Park for the African big 5 (lions, elephants, buffaloes, rhinos, and leopard), hyenas, zebras, giraffe, and several antelopes like the bushbucks, impalas
  • Overnight in Akagera National Park

Day 12: Kigali city tour (130 km / 81 miles)

  • The Kigali Genocide Memorial Site and city market, artisan shops
  • End of the tour and transfer to the airport
