Itinerary

Day 1

• Arrival and transfer to a hotel in Kigali
• Overnight in Kigali city centre

Day 2: Departure to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest / Uganda (171 km / 106 miles)

• Gatuna border crossing / African border crossing experience
• Riding to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest: a true African Jungle, known for its exceptional biodiversity, with more than 160 species of trees, vines and other vegetation make it almost 'impenetrable'. And home to the endangered mountain gorilla
• Overnight in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

Day 3: Departure to Queen Elizabeth National Park (140 km / 87 miles)

• Riding through Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
• Riding through Queen Elizabeth National Park, afternoon safari game drive
• Overnight in Queen Elizabeth National Park

Day 4: Departure to Kibale Forest (165 km / 103 miles)

• Riding through Queen Elizabeth National Park
• Stop over at Lake Eduard, meet the local fisher men of this remote village
• Crossing the Equator and riding the crater lakes trail of Uganda
• Boat trip in Kazinga Channel: one of the world's largest concentration of hippos and numerous Nile crocodiles, birds
• Overnight in Kibale Forest adjacent

Day 5: Departure to Kanungu, Queen Elizabeth National Park (290 km / 180 miles)

• Riding through Kibale Forest National Park
• Lake George
• Ride though Queen Elizabeth National Park and boat trip in Lake Bunyoni (optional)
• Overnight at Lake Bunyonyi Shores

Day 6: Departure to Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda (235 km / 146 miles)

• Rwanda - Uganda border crossing
• Exploring the Rwandan twin lakes (Lake Burera and Lake Ruhondo)
• Riding the roads adjacent the Chain of Volcanoes in Rwanda
• Overnight in Musanze, the home to gorillas

Day 7: Departure to Lake Kivu in Gisenyi (130 km / 81 miles)

• Making Banana Beer Experience with the locals
• Lake Kivu: the lake covers a bed of so much toxic methane, which Each eruption of the nearby Nyiragongo volcano raises fears the gas may escape and poison the neighboring towns and cities
• Overnight at Lake Kivu Shores / in Gisenyi

Day 8: Departure to Lake Kivu in Karongi (135 km / 84 miles)

• Riding the famous Congo Nile Trail
• A relaxed afternoon swimming and boat trip in Lake Kivu and a short hike to Napoleon Island (thousand bats) and monkeys
• Overnight at Lake Kivu Shores in Kibuye

Day 9: Ride to Explore Nyungwe Forest National Park (245 km / 152 miles)

• Riding Through Nyungwe Forest National Park: The oldest conserved tropical rainforest in Africa, home to 13 species - World's largest population of monkeys and chimpanzees
• Stop over at Uwinka Visitor Centre for a quick coffee and snacks
• Overnight in Huye

Day 10: Departure to Akagera National Park (220 km / 137 miles)

• The Akagera National Park is Central Africa’s largest protected wetland and the last remaining refuge for savannah-adapted species in Rwanda
• Exploring the south-east wet land of Rwanda: Lake Sake and Lake Mugesera
• Overnight in Akagera National Park

Day 11: Safari game drive in Akagera National Park (not riding bikes today)

• Starts from 7:30 a.m. to around 4 p.m.
• Safari game drive in Akagera National Park for the African big 5 (lions, elephants, buffaloes, rhinos, and leopard), hyenas, zebras, giraffe, and several antelopes like the bushbucks, impalas
• Overnight in Akagera National Park

Day 12: Kigali city tour (130 km / 81 miles)

• The Kigali Genocide Memorial Site and city market, artisan shops
• End of the tour and transfer to the airport

• Average riding experience
