Lieu
This safari holiday takes place in Chitwan National Park.
A visit to Chitwan is a must for any wildlife lover and even for leisurely travelers who wish to relax in the tranquility of the sub-tropical jungle and observe wildlife or the local culture, tradition, and way of life in Terai.
In Chitwan, you are not required to drive vast distances to actually notice animals in the wild. In such a quest, you will come across many animals,, like various kinds of deer, one-horn rhinos, monkeys, and, if you are lucky, sloth bears, leopards, and even tigers. The program also allows you to visit the local village of Tharu community by riding the old fashioned way in an ox cart. Observing their daily lives and getting to know their culture and traditions is an interesting experience.
Jungle walks are another interesting feature of this program, with experienced naturalists accompanying you as you trace wildlife in their own natural habitat. Be prepared to get thrilled.
A canoe ride on a traditionally dug-out canoe in the Rapti River provides a nice opportunity to observe many birds and animals living closer to water sources. Bird watching takes you to the deep forest to spot different species of birds like water fowl, brahminy ducks, pintails, bar-headed geese, cormorants, woodpeckers, hornbills, peacocks, peahens, floricans, and red-headed trogons as per their migratory seasons.
Overall, the Chitwan Highlights Tour is just the right program to explore wildlife, relax in the comfort of one of the last remaining primeval forests that once covered the Indian Subcontinent plus get closer with the local culture and tradition.
