This safari takes you through the great Selous (Nyerere National Park). Your tour will begin and end in Dar es Salaam, but the bulk of your time will be spent exploring the incredible game reserve. On the way to Selous, you will have lunch. Upon arrival, you’ll have an evening boat safari in the Rufiji River for 2-3 hours. You will participate in boat and walking safaris and marvel at the wildlife that calls this area home.

This camp is newly opened, bordering Africa's largest protected area, the untamed Selous Game Reserve. The Selous Ngalawa Camp, situated in its own forest reserve, is the original camp set up along the mighty Rufiji River near the Mtemere Gate, the eastern gate to the Selous Game Reserve. The green ceiling of tree branches and leaves provides shade almost always throughout the day.
The camp is a budget safari with accommodation in bog en-suite tents, where you can enjoy an authentic experience in the heart of the wild nature. There is no AC or electricity overnight. There will be a possibility for cold showers, but please make sure to bring your own toiletries.

Programme
Day 1
You will be picked up from the hotel at 08:00 in the morning after breakfast and drive for 5 to 6 hours to Selous Nyerere National Park. Upon arrival, hot lunch will be served at the camp, followed by a short rest. At 4:00 p.m., go on a boat safari on the Rufiji River for 2 to 3 hours. During the boat safari, a variety of bird species, crocodiles, and hippos can be seen.
In the evening, enjoy an overnight stay at Selous Ngalawa Camp.
Day 2
Leave the camp this morning with a packed lunch in hand, ready for a full-day game drive in Nyerere National Park, which takes approximately 8 hours. Nyerere National Park is well known for its wildlife and boat safaris. Lions, elephants, zebras, giraffes, and many other animals can be found throughout the park.
After the game drive, return to Selous Ngalawa Camp for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3
Early in the morning, at 06:30 before breakfast, begin a walking safari with an armed ranger and walking guide for approximately 2 to 3 hours.
Afterwards, return for breakfast at the hotel, then drive to Dar es Salaam. Lunch will be enjoyed on the way.
