The lodge offers accommodation in five luxurious thatched cottages and four tents overlooking the open savannah in a serene and relaxing atmosphere. Each spacious cottage was hand-crafted using locally available materials and surrounded by forest trees. The cottages combine wooden floors, grass thatched roofs, and canvas that can be folded away for uninterrupted views of Hippo grazing at moonlight. The water is heated using energy saving stove.

You will depart from Kampala heading southwestwards to Queen Elizabeth National Park with a stopover for lunch at Igongo cultural center. You will have dinner and stay overnight at Irungu Forest Lodge.
You will start your day with the excitement of an early morning game drive. In the afternoon, you will enjoy the boat trip along the Kazinga channel. Birds and lots of wildlife come along the channel to drink water and you have higher chances of witnessing predator-prey reactions. Your dinner and overnight stay will be served at Irungu Forest Lodge.
In the early morning, after breakfast, you will leave the Northern sector of Queen Elizabeth and head southwards, where you find the rain tropical forests which are the natural habitat for the endangered mountain gorillas. You will pass through the Ishasha sector, the southern region of Queen Elizabeth National Park. Then, you will take a game drive in search for the tree climbing lions which are seen during the hot hours of the day, as they lie resting on top of figs trees.
You will also see herds of buffaloes, elephants, topi antelopes and more. In the evening, you will go for guided birding and later return to the lodge for dinner and overnight at Irungu forest Lodge.
After breakfast, you will check out and embark on an exciting road trip back to Kampala with a stop over for lunch and a tour to cultural craft shops at Igongo cultural center. You will enjoy your dinner and stay overnight at Maries Royale Hotel Kampala.

Being one of the outstanding treasures of Uganda, Queen Elizabeth National Park has recently been designated a biosphere reserve for humanity under UNESCO. The park covers 2000 square kilometers and includes a remarkable variety of ecosystems from semi-deciduous tropical forest to green meadows, Savannah, and swamps.
It is the home of the famous tree- climbing lions, the Uganda kobs, and other antelopes as well as elephants, buffaloes, hippos, baboons, leopards, and chimpanzee. Over 500 species of birds have been recorded here making it a prime target for birdwatchers. The launch trip along the Kazinga channel between the Lake George and Edward is a memorable way to view the abundant game in Queen Elizabeth national park.
