You will spend you 8 nights at several accommodations provided by Wildrace Africa Tours & Travel.
Your safari adventure will be in a standard game viewing safari vehicle, completed with a pop-up roof for easy viewing and photography. Every passenger will be guaranteed a window seat. You will be accompanied by an English-speaking driver / guide who has in-depth knowledge of the flora, fauna, landscape, and Kenyan culture. Furthermore, the vehicle is outfitted with a two-way, long-range high-frequency radio communication equipment. You will be comfortable during your safari because each safari vehicle carries safari accessories including wildlife books, bean bags to support cameras on car doors and window sills, binoculars, a first-aid kit, an ice-chest, and a fire extinguisher.
On arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (NBO) in the morning, the representation will meet you and transfer you to The Nairobi Safari Club hotel. After checking in, you will proceed to Nairobi National Park, an ornithological paradise starter within the city environment. In the afternoon, you will be guided to visit National Museum Bird Gallery, followed by a short walk at Nairobi Botanical Garden. Here, you will have a chance to see various species of birds such as a variable sunbird, bronzy sunbird, collared sunbird, African goshawk, palm swift, baglafecht weaver, and much more. You will have lunch, dinner, and overnight stay at Stanley Hotel Nairobi.
In the morning, you will depart from Nairobi for Lake Elmentaita. You will be arrived in the middle of the morning and have a bird walk as you try to identify available species of birds like a feral lovebird, avocets, Klaas's cuckoo, glossy ibis, black heron, red-billed teal, black-tailed godwit, and much more. In the afternoon, you will have lunch at Lake Elmentaita Lodge. After that, you will have an afternoon bird walk around the lodge and have dinner as well as stay overnight at Lake Elmentaita Pelican Lodge.
After breakfast, you will depart from Lake Elmentaita for Lake Naivasha via the Great North road for a scenic drive. You will be arrived in the middle of the morning and have a bird walk before lunch. You will also have dinner and stay overnight at Naivasha Sopa Lodge. During your full day trip to Lake Naivasha, you will study the birds in the region such as a heron, African fish eagle, osprey, black crake, and lily trotters. Furthermore, you will have an excursion to the Elsamere Center. There, you will be involved in reliving the experience of Joy Adamson and Elsa while viewing the “Born Free”.
After breakfast, you will have a morning bird watching on the shores of Lake Naivasha. Additionally, you will have a few hours of relaxation before lunch. In the afternoon, you will visit Hell’s Gate National Park, which is a breeding ground for vultures in Kenya such as a lammergeyer vulture. There will be also various species of birds such as the eastern imperial eagle, Schalow’s wheatear, and chinspot batis. At the end of the day, you will have dinner and stay overnight at Lake Naivasha Sopa Lodge.
After breakfast, you will go to Lake Nakuru National Park which is known as “The pink heart of Kenya” because of the millions of flamingos covering the lake with pink shine. After that, you will have an afternoon game drive or bird watching. At the end of the day, you will have dinner and stay overnight at Lake Nakuru Lodge or luxury tented Flamingo Hill Camp.
Today, you will spend the whole day bird watching in the park. If you are lucky enough, you will have a chance to spot the shy leopards which are mostly seen in this park. You will then return to the accommodation to have lunch and relax before your late afternoon game drive. After that, you will try to capture what’s not seen during the day before the dusk engulfs you. At the end of the day, you will have dinner and stay overnight at luxury tented Flamingo Hill Camp.
Soon after breakfast, you will drive across the floor of the Great Rift Valley, the longest rift in the crust of the earth, to Maasai Mara Game Reserve which is the unspoiled savannah. In the afternoon, you will have lunch, take some time to relax, and maybe take a dip in the pool at Mara Sopa Lodge. Sopa is a Maasai word which means welcome and indeed, this is a tradition which has been well adopted by the lodge to all guests. Set in the Oloolaimutia valley, the lodge blends in perfectly with its surrounding hillside landscape.
Afterward, you will depart for an afternoon game drive in search of the Big 5. As the sun began to dip on the edge of the horizon, you will have a perfect time to take a picture of the beautiful Maasai Mara. Don’t forget, it will also be the right time to spot the shy leopards. At the end of the day, you will stay overnight at the excellent Mara Sopa Lodge.
An early morning bird watching after breakfast will be a perfect start for your unforgettable and memorable birding day in Africa. With picnic lunch en-route, you will spend your day in Mara Plains trying to identify some of the 450 species or birds recorded around this reserve. You will have your meals and stay overnight at Mara Sopa Lodge.
After an early morning game drive, you will return to the lodge for full breakfast. You will also have a visit to Maasai Village as you going back to Nairobi. Furthermore, you will have lunch en-route and arrive in Nairobi by the late evening. After that, you will have a farewell dinner. Wildrace Africa Tours & Travel will host you at the famous Carnivore Restaurant, which is considered as “Africa’s greatest eating experience” and home to “Simba Saloon”, one of the most popular nightclubs in the city. Then, you will be transferred to the airport for your international departure flight.

Lake Naivasha is located closely to Lake Nakuru National Park and 65 miles away from Nairobi. It was declared as a bird sanctuary in 1967 and now it supports pastoral industries of wine and flowers. Dominated by the shadow of Mount Longonot, Lake Naivasha has a more spectacular setting than other lakes in the world. Located on the Great Rift floor, Lake Naivasha is home to an incredible variety of species. There have been over 450 species recorded here.
Maasai Mara is located in the northern portion of the Great Plains ecosystem in the neighboring Tanzania national park called Serengeti. Maasai Mara is also home to the Big 5 consisting of lions, buffalos, rhinos, leopards, and elephants. It is also home to cheetahs, zebras, giraffes, and vast herds of plain antelope as well as other numerous wildlife.
All meals noted in the itinerary will be included. Generally, each day will include breakfast, lunch, and dinner (except on day 1, 5, and 6) buffets consisting of both western and local dishes. In total, you will have 7 breakfasts, 8 lunches, and 9 dinners. Furthermore, bottled mineral water is provided in the minivan while you are on game drives.
Please arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (NBO) in the morning. Wildrace Africa Tours & Travel will pick you up from the airport. Transfers from and to airport is included in the price.
