Mikumi Wildlife Camp
This camp is located in the heart of Mikumi National Park, within a few hundred meters of the main entrance gate. It has nine en-suite bandas (thatched house), each of which is large, well-ventilated, and with a large veranda. All bandas can accommodate four people in two separate rooms, making it convenient and family-friendly. The bandas, as well as the lounge, dining area, and bar, overlook the well-attended waterholes in front of the camp.
The camp's open-air restaurant looks out over the plains and gives guests the most wonderful panoramic views. The bar is a marvelous place to sit and watch the sunset. The camp also has a small swimming pool, and numerous animals are regularly seen close by. The camp is supplied by a generator that runs from 6 to 9 a.m., at lunchtime, and from 6 to 8 p.m.

Another attraction in the park are the hippo pools, where you can watch hippos wallowing and snorting at close range.
Over 300 species of birds are seen in the park as well, including the saddle-billed stork, hamerkop, malachite kingfisher, lilac-breasted roller, yellow-throated longclaw, bateleur, and others. Enjoy a late-afternoon game drive with sunset viewing, and watch the animals drinking water at the hippo pool. This safari will take place in Mikumi National Park in Tanzania. It is located north of the Selous Game Reserve, surrounded by open grasslands and mountain ranges, and covers an area of 3,230 square kilometers. The open horizons and abundant wildlife of the park's popular centerpiece, the Mkata Floodplain (also known as the "mini-Serengeti"), draw frequent comparisons to the more famous Serengeti plains.
