This journey offers a diverse and fascinating journey along the old trade routes, as you cover 3 countries and take a Zambia safari in the world famous South Luangwa. During the safari, you will be staying in the accommodations provided by Wildlife Trails. Mainly, your accommodation is wild camping with 5 nights of cabin accommodation.
The group meets up in Livingstone. You will have two days to explore Victoria Falls.
Long drive to southern Zambia and the Kafue River will enrich your safari.
You’ll enjoy two days of canoeing along the Zambezi River and wild camping as well.
Before driving to the Great Eastern Road, you will head to Lusaka for supplies.
2 full days of jeep safaris and walking safaris in the famous South Luangwa National Park await you on these days.
Buy supplies in the markets of Lilongwe before heading to your camp on the beach at Lake Malawi. After that, you will go on boat excursions to nearby islands.
Enter Mozambique at Zobue. Making your way back over the Zambezi, you will travel through the Tete region. You will camp in this remote part of Mozambique.
There are two days for you to explore the pristine Bazaruto Islands by traditional dow.
Arab influences are strong in Inhambane dating back to when slaves, ivory, gold and spices were traded. You’ll have two days to explore this area rich in history and enjoy beautiful beaches and excellent snorkeling on the coral reefs.
Travel further south along the coast to the town of Bilene situated on the shores of the Uembje lagoon.
Travel through the Limpopo Transfrontier Park into Kruger National Park, the big game country.

It is definitely one of the top 5 wildlife parks in the whole of Africa. Lions are the most common big cat seen during the day and you may well be privileged to witness a pride hunting. Spoyyed Hyenas are relatively common and you will see a steady increase of wild dog sightings; from a fairly low base due to it being depleted by an anthrax outbreak in the late 80's. Birdlife is also rich with around 400 species recorded, you may spot Carmine bee-eaters, African skimmers and giant eagle owls on the night drives.
