One glimpse is enough to explain the Maasai Mara's appeal with typical open savannah and a mass of amazing wildlife. Wherever you go in the vast Maasai Mara, you will see a frequent amount of wildlife such as Maasai giraffe, baboons, warthogs, bat-eared foxes, grey jackals, spotted hyena, topis, impala, hartebeests, and wildebeest. Elephants, buffaloes, zebras, and hippos are also found in great numbers. It is also common to see lions either basking after a heavy meal or surveying the plains for their next meal. Cheetahs and leopards are harder to spot but reasonably common.
The ultimate action here is without a doubt the annual wildebeest exodus which is the great migration in July and August when millions of these grazers move north from the Serengeti in search of lusher grass before turning south again in October. Balloon trips are an entirely outstanding way of seeing the savannah plains teeming with wildlife. These Maasai Mara balloon trips can be arranged at extra cost. Furthermore, dinner and overnight will be at the tented camp.

This safari will take place at various locations in Kenya including Amboseli National Park, Lake Nakuru National Park, and Maasai Mara National Reserve.
Amboseli National Park is located in Loitokitok District, Rift Valley Province, Kenya. The ecosystem is mainly savannah grassland spread across the Kenya - Tanzania border. The park is famous for being the best place in Africa to get close to free-ranging elephants among other wildlife species. Other attractions of the park include opportunities to meet the Maasai and spectacular views of Mount Kilimanjaro.
The park lies in Central Kenya, 140 kilometers northwest of Nairobi in Nakuru District of the Rift Valley Province. The ecosystem comprises of the lake, surrounded by mainly wooded and bushy grasslands. The park supports a wide ecological diversity with flamingos (greater and lesser) and other water birds being the major attractions of the area. The ecosystem provides for about 56 different species of mammals including the white rhino, buffaloes, and a variety of terrestrial birds numbering nearly 450 species.
Lake Nakuru's claim to fame is anchored on its flamingos and there are over 400 species of birds found here. The lake itself is a soda lake on the floor of the Rift Valley. The sight of millions of flamingos is quite spectacular. From a distance, the lake appears ringed in pink. The lake has also earned a reputation as an important haven for endangered species, particularly the Rothschild's giraffe and the black and white rhino. Lions, waterbuck, buffalo, and baboons are all residents here.
Maasai Mara (Masai Mara) is situated in the southwest of Kenya and is one of Africa’s greatest wildlife reserves. Together with the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania, it forms Africa’s most diverse, incredible, and most spectacular ecosystems and possibly the world’s top safari big game viewing ecosystem. The wildebeest migration in Maasai Mara heads south to Serengeti National Park where they will give birth from February to March. They will be back in Kenya around July and leave again around late October. The Maasai Mara is made famous by the abundance of the big cats such, lion, leopard, cheetah, the great wildebeest migration, and the Maasai people who are well-known for their distinctive custom and dress.
There is a wide selection of places to stay in and around the Maasai Mara and the conservancies surrounding it. The conservancies surrounding the Maasai Mara have restricted number of vehicles, allowing a more private game viewing of wildlife. Safaris in the Maasai Mara, without a doubt, are some of the best safaris you will ever get. Moreover, the Maasai Mara ecosystem holds one of the highest lion densities in the world and this is where over two million wildebeest, zebra, and Thomson's gazelle migrate annually. Maasai Mara National Reserve stretches 1,510 kilometers square (580 miles square) and raises 1,500 to 2,170 meters above the sea level. It also hosts over 95 species of mammals and 570 recorded species of birds.
Maasai Mara is about 270 kilometers from the capital city of Kenya, Nairobi, and takes about five to six hours by road or 40 to 45 minutes by flight. The road is great for the most part. There is a section from Narok town to Sekenani Gate that is dirt road but fairly good. The other road through Lemek and Aitong town is not good at all as it is very bumpy. Maasai Mara is where the great wildebeest migration is a spectacle to behold for any visitor to Kenya mainly from July to October every year. Maasai Mara has been named as the seventh Wonders of the World because of the great wildebeest migration. Furthermore, you can also have walking as well as balloon safari in Maasai Mara.
During this safari, you will be provided with two breakfasts, four lunches, and five dinners. A minimum of one-liter mineral water a day will also be provided while on safari only.
