This trip is a small-group joining safari for adventure travelers in across East Africa. You can explore wildlife on low budget accommodations in tented eco camps, budget hotels, and pitched tents in designated campsite. This trip is also suitable for single travelers and couples who like the idea of camping or rustic accommodations or traveling on a low budget and get real value for this kind of safari.
For this trip, you will stay in Mara Sidai Tented Camp on your second night. Wild Safaris and Travel has several choices of the leading tented camps in the Mara for the experience of sleeping under canvas but in luxurious conditions!
This safari features Mara National Reserve. The safari departs from Nairobi in the morning and involves a drive down to the floor of the Rift Valley, making a stop at a view point to see the escarpment and the awesome sight of the valley and the features therein. Arrive in Maasai Mara in time for lunch, followed by a late afternoon game drive that introduces you to Kenya’s most popular game sanctuary.
The Maasai Mara is Kenya's most celebrated game park as it offers the possibility of seeing the big five and many other species of game. This is where the great wildebeest migration is a spectacle to behold for any would be a visitor to Kenya mainly in July and August of each year.
You depart from Nairobi at 08:30 and drive through the viewpoint of the Great Rift Valley to the Maasai Mara National Reserve. This enormous reserve is actually a part of the vast Serengeti plains famously known for its spectacular great wildebeest’s migration and is a home of the big five: lion, elephant, leopard, buffalo, and rhino.
Also, the wild animals that can be found in the park are Masai giraffe, buffalo, eland, and thousands of plain game including impala, zebra, both Thomson's and grants gazelles. You will have a lunch at the camp and relax before departing for the afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight at the camp.
Spend the day in Maasai Mara, Kenya's most popular game sanctuary where you will have the best opportunity of spotting the big five: lion, leopard, buffalo, rhino, and elephant.
The game drives are flexible with the option of going out with picnic lunch boxes to spend the entire day in the park or you can choose to have early morning and late afternoon game drives. You will also have the option of visiting a local Maasai village at an additional cost. All meals and overnight at the Mara Sidai Tented Camp.
You will have another early morning game drive in Mara and then depart after breakfast and drive back to Nairobi arriving in approximately 4 hours. You can choose to drop at your hotel or transfer to the airport for onward flight home. Lunch will be provided the last day. The approximate transit time is 5.5 hours.
The Mara Game Reserve is one of the greatest wildernesses of the world. Large mammals are varied and easy to see. The Masai Mara is Kenya's finest and most outstanding wildlife sanctuary where gentle rolling grassland ensures animals are never out of sight.
The sensation of the great wildebeest migration between July and October is unparalleled. The wildlife is far from being confined within the reserve boundaries and an even larger area extends beyond the game reserve. Centuries of close association with the wildlife has resulted in an almost symbiotic relationship where wildlife and Masai people live in peace with one another.
