Day 1: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park
You will be picked up from your overnight accommodation in Kampala or Entebbe by the safari guide. You will begin your three days of Murchison Falls safari by driving northwest of Uganda on a six-hour road drive to Murchison Falls National Park. You will make a stop at the Zziwa Rhino Sanctuary, where you will have a nature walk in the breeding home of the rhinos to encounter these endangered species.
You will have your lunch along the way and proceed with the journey to the magnificent Murchison Falls where you will marvel at the breathtaking beauty of the mighty Nile River forced into a seven meters crevice to thunder 43 meters below in a series of cascades.
The sight of the Nile River, the world’s longest river, winding its way through the park and plunging through a narrow gap is unforgettable. You can view this spectacular sight from the top of the falls. The dinner and overnight accommodation is your own choice.
Day 2: Game drive and boat cruise
After an early morning breakfast, embark on a game drive on the northern bank of River Nile for your dawn game drive to spot, most likely, the big cats hunting, elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, waterbucks, bushbucks, and warthogs among others.
You will return to your lodge for lunch. After lunch, you will take a boat ride on the Nile whilst viewing the animals, including hippos, crocodiles, elephants, and different species of birds.
The boat cruise will take you to the foot of the mighty Murchison Falls offering great photographic opportunities of the marvel nature. Then, you will head back to the lodge for leisure time. You will spend the rest of the evening, resting, relaxing, and doing what you like.
Day 3: Budongo chimpanzee trek - transfer to Kampala
You will have an early morning breakfast then you will transfer to Budongo Forest Reserve. This site is ranked among the first sites in Uganda for providing a variety of bio-diversity. For half a day, you will have primates walk in search of the various species of primates that inhabit this forest like the chimpanzees, black and white Colobus monkey, red-tailed monkey, baboon, and the grey-cheeked mangabey.
This safari adventure will be held at Murchison Falls National Park. It is Uganda's largest national park covering over 3,840 square kilometers. This park is renowned for its scenic beauty and the spectacular falls from which it gets its name. This park and the greater Murchison Falls Conservation Area support an abundance of flora and fauna, boasting over 72 species of mammals, nine species of primates, more than 465 species of plants, and 450 species of birds.
The diversity can truly boggle your imagination. From rolling savanna and tall grasslands, to thick bush and woodlands, the biodiversity of this park never ceases to amaze visitors and residents alike.
