You will be provided 12 nights of accommodation at various places. Accommodations will be at Carpe Diem Guest House in Entebbe, Murchison River Lodge in Masindi, Kibale Forest Camp, Enganzi Lodge, Silverback Lodge in Bwindi, and Birdnest Resort in Lake Bunyoyi.
The first two nights and the last night of this safari experience will be spent at the Carpe Diem Guest House. This is a house that has four luxury rooms, all with en suite bathrooms. The rooms are finished to a high standard and promise of a good night’s sleep is given. Each room can be made into a single, twin, or double room. The guest house is located on a hill with perfect views of the lake.
The landscaped gardens offer a tranquil setting from which to watch the beautiful Ugandan sun set over the water. The guest house has Wi-Fi both in its rooms and in the gardens.
Murchison River Lodge will be your next home for the next two nights. It is located on the southern bank of the River Nile overlooking Murchison Falls National Park, pods of hippos, and papyrus islands.
In the beautiful surroundings, there are comfortable and relaxing mid-range accommodation to suit all budgets, well-appointed en suite thatched cottages, thatched safari tents each with private facilities, and comfortable camping tents already set up around a shaded campsite. If you would prefer to bring your own tent, there are covered areas for self-catering in the campsite, including a fire pit and an excellent shower and toilet facilities.
You will spend the fifth and sixth night of the safari at the Kibale Forest Camp. Kibale Forest Camp offers an affordable classic canvas experience in the form of 10 African safari style tents tucked away in a lush forest. A budget alternative is the lazy camping on the campsite grounds.
Kibale Forest Camp is located in a patch of evergreen forest, just outside the southern part of the Kibale National Park. It borders the Magombe swamp, known for the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary.
The Enganzi Lodge is the perfect gateway to the mighty Queen Elizabeth National park, a perfect setting to begin your journey into the wild, and you will stay here on the seventh and eighth night of the safari.
The captivating Enganzi Game Lodge is nestled on a hill bordering the Queen Elizabeth National Park and overlooking unspoilt bush in the cradle of western Ugandans magnificent wild. With five splendidly set cottages which offer a picture perfect view of the Queen Elizabeth National Parks bush expense, guests will be spoilt for choice in glimpses of nature's best flora and fauna.
The views are unmatched and the open-sided main house has been designed with space and views in mind. You can enjoy sundowners and all the beauty that Africa has to offer.
Guests can enjoy nature walks, game viewing, and bird watching. The location also offers a breathtaking advantage for sightseeing. Your experience at the Enganzi Game Lodge will be crowned with an unforgettable imprint of sheer luxury in natures wild.
On the ninth and tenth night of the safari, you will stay at Silverback Lodge. It is perched on high atop the valley overlooking Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The view is absolutely stunning, and it is the best place to enjoy après-tracking cocktails.
Bird-watching and sometimes primate-viewing is possible right from the front door of your room. With 12 rooms, Silverback Lodge is the largest lodge in the area and will remain one of the best value properties in the region, whilst keeping the Marasa Africa standards of comfort and hospitality.
You will be staying overnight at the Birdnest Resort on the eleventh night of the safari. The Birdnest Bunyonyi Resort is located in southwest Uganda. Its position at Lake Bunyonyi means the borders of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Rwanda, and even Tanzania are nearby.
The lake is well known for its great variety of birds of all sizes. It is surrounded by the green hills covered with the farming terraces which define the look of the region. The hotel is positioned at the shore of the lake, offering a spectacular view of these amazing surroundings.
Upon your arrival through Entebbe International Airport (EBB), you will be welcomed by the guide and transfer you to your overnight hotel in Entebbe. You will quickly and easily identify the driver to welcome you. He will be holding a signpost with your names on it. You will stay at Carpe Diem Guest House.
This morning after breakfast, take the 45-minute boat trip to Ngamba Island, the home to the orphaned chimpanzees living in the protected sanctuary. On arrival, the duty caretakers will take you around the chimp home and brief you about the history of the sanctuary and how and why the chimps were transferred to this island. You will be in time for the feeding session as this gives a chance for visitors to interact with the chimpanzees.
Standing on the visitor platform, you will also notice their unique behavior and then take pictures of them. After the tour, you will return to your Entebbe accommodation at the Carpe Diem Guest House.
Your safari in Uganda will begin with driving northwards to Murchison Falls National Park. With a hot lunch en route, prepare yourself for a breathtaking scenery and a short nature walk to the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary in Masindi. The guided nature walk in the sanctuary brings you up close with the endangered rhinos.
By evening, you will arrive in the national park and transfer directly to your lodge for dinner and overnight at your preferred accommodation in Murchison River Lodge.
After an early morning breakfast, enjoy an early game drive and enjoy some of the vast array of game animals like giraffes, elephants, and buffalo that roam the park. Return to lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, take a boat launch upstream to the foot of the thundering Murchison Falls offering great photo opportunities of this marvel of nature. Also, along the banks of the river you will be able to see animals like hippos, crocodiles, and unique bird species for the avid bird watchers. Dinner and overnight as night before at Murchison River Lodge.
After an early breakfast, you will leave the national park and proceed in the direction of Fort Portal traversing along the Great Rift Valley. The Rwenzori Mountain Ranges could be seen at a good range as you progress to Fort Portal town.
You will have your lunch en route, then proceed to Kibale Forest National Park. The drive takes about six to seven hours. You will arrive at Kibale Forest in the evening and spend the rest of the evening at leisure. You will then spend the night at Kibale Forest Camp.
After an early breakfast, you will have a briefing session with the park officials and later set off to the rainforest for the chimpanzee tracking adventures. Return to the lodge for lunch and in the evening, participate in an organized Bigodi Swamp walk.
Bigodi Swamp is popular with many swamp endemic birds like pelicans, herons, collared apallis, bee eater, Narina trogon, black-capped apallis, yellow-spotted nicator, blue-headed sunbird, woodland warbler, and more. The swamp is also a major livelihood for the local community through tourism and crafts. You will return to your lodge for dinner and overnight as night before at Kibale Forest Camp.
Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park, one of the largest parks and home to several species of mammals. You will enjoy your lunch and arrive in time for an evening game drive in the savanna with sights of lions, elephants, buffaloes, hyenas, stripped jackals, hippopotamus, kobs, warthog, and a variety of primates like chimpanzee, olive baboon, red-tailed, and vervet monkeys in the forests. Dinner and overnight at accommodation of your choice at the Enganzi Lodge.
After breakfast, drive towards Kasenyi and visit the crater lakes, Edwards and George, which has been popularly marked as the mating ground for several antelopes, particularly for the Uganda kob. You maybe be lucky to also sight more wildlife that may include lions, buffaloes, elephants, and other animals.
Head back to your lodge for lunch and then proceed on an afternoon launch cruise on the Kazinga Channel. Enjoy the rays of the setting sun on the launch cruise as you return back to your lodge for dinner and overnight as night before at the Enganzi Lodge.
Take an early breakfast and then drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest Park through Ishasha sector, the area famed for the tree-climbing lions. Have a short game drive, lunch, and then proceed to Bwindi via the lush green countryside. The drive takes about four to five hours, and you will reach Bwindi by the evening and check into your lodge for overnight at the Silverback Lodge and dinner.
After an early breakfast, head to the ranger station for briefing, and by the mid-morning, start your gorilla trekking expedition in the lush forest vegetation of Bwindi National Park. It is quite strenuous and requires fitness through the long hours of anticipated gorilla tracking, sometimes taking two to seven hours of trekking. Other sights on the trails may include monkeys, birds, and several butterflies.
Spend utmost one hour with the gorillas and then retire to your lodge happy to have made the trip. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight as night before at the Silverback Lodge.
After breakfast at leisure, your journey proceeds to Lake Bunyonyi, an area famed for her breathtaking beauty and scenic landscape. You will understand it with the beautiful islands that make up a spectacular view forming a small Switzerland in Uganda. Arrive in time for lunch at the lodge in Lake Bunyonyi. By afternoon, spend time relaxing and enjoying the beauty of this place. Dinner and overnight at Birdnest Resort at the Lake Bunyonyi.
Today, you will have an early morning breakfast with your lunch en route, as you start the drive back to Entebbe. You will transfer to Entebbe for an overnight at Carpe Diem Guest House. There is an organized last transfer to the airport from the lodge on the following day.
This safari will be held in various national parks and forests in Uganda. The tours, game drives, and treks will take place at Kampla, Entenbbe, Ngamba Island, Masindi, Kasenyi, Kazinga Channel, Bwindi, and Lake Bunyoyi.
You will visit Ngamba Island, Murchison Falls National Park, Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, Fort Portal, Great Rift Valley, Rwenzori Mountain Ranges, Kibale Forest National Park, Bigodi Swamp, Queen Elizabeth National Park, and Bwindi Forest Park.
During this safari, you will be served three daily meals, except on your first and last day as specified in the itinerary. Water onboard will also be provided.
