Accommodation

During this safari, you will be camping and accommodated at various locations in South Africa, Namibia, and Zambia.

On your first night, you will stay in the Cederberg Mountains. You camp next to the Orange River on your second night. Fish River Canyon will be where you rest on your third night. On your fourth and fifth night, you will stay at Sesriem Campsite.

You will be accommodated in Swakopmund on night six and seven. On your eight night, you will spend the night at the edge of the Brandberg. You will stay in Etosha National Park on the ninth and tenth nights. On night eleven, you will rest in the town of Rundu. You will stay in Caprivi on your twelfth and thirteenth nights. Your last two nights will be spent in Livingstone.

Program

Day 1: Cape Town to Cederberg

You start your trip with a drive out to the Cederberg Mountains where you stay overnight. In the afternoon, you do a hike in these magnificent mountains.

Day 2: Cederberg to Orange River

You make your way into Namibia and camp next to the Orange River (the international border between South Africa and Namibia). The next morning you have the opportunity for a canoe trip on this magnificent river at your own expense.

Day 3: Orange River to Fish River Canyon

After canoeing and a wholesome brunch, you head off to the Fish River Canyon (the second largest canyon in the world). You spend the afternoon watching the sunset over this majestic canyon.

Days 4 and 5: Fish River Canyon to Sesriem Campsite

You leave the canyon behind and travel into the desert for a full day of playing on the dunes and taking some great photos of the area. Here, you will visit places like Sesriem Canyon, Deadvlei, and Sossusvlei.

Days 6 and 7: Sesriem Camp to Swakopmund

You break away from the sand and the dust and spend two days in Swakopmund in accommodation, relaxing and having some free time. Here there is a range of activities available for you to do, such as taking a scenic flight over the desert, quad biking, or sand boarding (all at own expense). You also do two nights of own expense meals for dinner.

Day 8: Swakopmund to Brandberg

Taking the road out of Swakopmund, you go to see the Cape fur seals at Cape Cross. After that, you go out to view the bushman paintings of the White Lady, which is a bushman medicine man. You spend the night at the edge of the Brandberg. If you are lucky, we may also witness some of the elusive desert elephants of this area.

Days 9 and 10: Brandberg to Etosha National Park

One of the best nature reserves in the world. You spend two days game driving in the area and around the salt pan. Etosha is known for its great wildlife photos with an amazing variety of species around the water holes.

Day 11: Etosha National Park to Rundu

A long day on the road. You leave the beauty of Etosha behind you and make your way to the town of Rundu (the capital town of the Caprivi Strip). You may also do a village walk if, time allows.

Day 12: Rundu to Caprivi

You go into the north-eastern tip of Namibia to see what happens in this little piece of the country between Angola and Botswana.

Day 13: Caprivi

You make your way deeper into the Caprivi Strip and if you are lucky you may spot some of the elephants and buffalo that call this area home along the road.

Day 14: Caprivi to Zambia

You stay over in the town of Livingstone. Here, a variety of adventurous activities are available, for example, river rafting, bungee jumping, and whitewater rafting. You can even cross the border and visit the Chobe Game Reserve in Botswana.

This day is free for activities in and around Livingstone.

Included excursions

On the first day, you will hike the Cederberg Mountains. You will go to the Fish River Canyon on the third day to watch the sunset. Play on the dunes and take photos of Sesriem Canyon, Deadvlei, and Sossusvlei on the fourth and fifth days and view the bushman paintings of the White Lady on the day eight.
