Lion Hill Safari Lodge
Situated on ‘Mlima ya Simba’ (Swahili for lion hill) and adjoining the world-famous Tsavo East National Park at Voi Gate, this is the ideal set wild world of the magnificent Lion Hill Safari Lodge.
Enjoying the spellbinding views of the renowned scenery and wildlife of the legendary Tsavo, the lodge is conveniently accessible from the main tourist routes. Lion Hill Safari Lodge boasts traditional architecture with makuti-thatched roofs and natural logs. The encampment comprises eight rooms, four tents, a bar, and a dining room serving traditional and continental cuisine of the highest standards.
Lodge room
All of the rooms have solid construction yet they retain the rural feel with total luxury. Mosquito nets are provided in all rooms. It should be noted that being on top of the hill there are generally few mosquitoes. All bathrooms have hot and cold water with modern tiling and fittings.
Program
Day 1: Mombasa - Tsavo East National Park (245 kilometers - 4 hours)
Pick up from your beach hotel in Diani or Bamburi at 06:00 and depart to Tsavo East National Park (12,000 square kilometers). Upon entering the park, the driver will open the roof of your bus so you can stand up with the wind in your hair.
Welcome to Africa, the safari has begun! Tsavo is the largest national park in Kenya and is split into East and West by the highway. You will arrive at your lodge in time for lunch and later enjoy time for relaxation before setting off back into the park for your afternoon game drive. Return to the lodge as the sun sets. Overnight stay at Lion Hill Lodge or similar on a full-board basis.
Day 2: Tsavo East National Park - Mombasa (245 kilometers - 4 hours)
You will have a morning safari and then drive back to the beach hotel, arriving late in the afternoon. You will be dropped off at your hotel and it will end the safari service.

Tsavo East National Park
Most famous for its huge herds of dust-red elephants, more than 10,000 of them bulldoze their way around this vast park. Incidentally, although Tsavo East and Tsavo West share a name - and a common border, coinciding with the Mombasa highway. They are two distinct national parks with different eco-systems: the wooded and hilly landscapes, dotted with volcanic cones and dramatic, black lava flows of Tsavo West National Park and the much flatter, more open plains and scattered bush that characterizes Tsavo East National Park.
