Accommodation

You will camp for two nights in Pacaya Samiria National Reserve, Peru.

Program

Day 1: Arrival at Pacaya Samiria National Reserve

You will be picked up at the airport. Then, you will depart to Nauta by road. The ride will take approximately one hour and a half. Once in Nauta, a boat will be waiting in order to start the expeditions to one of the most pristine protected areas in Peru, named Pacaya Samiria National Reserve. After three hours of the boat ride, you will reach this astonishing landscape place featured to be the jungle of the mirrors due to the quality of reflection of their black waters. You will stop at a checkpoint where you will sign the guestbook for it is the main requirement to get deep into this national reserve.

After the entrance procedure, you will head to your first campsite where you will have a variety of activities in order to enjoy this magical place. Lunch is followed by your first outing where you will have different options such as; pink and gray dolphin observation, primates observation, walk-in seasonally floodplain forest, bird watching, swimming with dolphins, and more. After dinner, you will have the option to have a night walk in search of nocturnal creatures (possible observation of snakes, spiders, raccoons, night monkeys, nocturnal birds, frogs, etc.)

Day 2: Bird and dolphin watching

In the early morning, activities are prior to breakfast. Being as the best time to see the most exotic and colorful birds, Tropical Adventures & Expeditions encourages you to wake up and watch the birds, such as macaws, parrots, tanagers, orioles, and species of mammals as well. In the morning, you will have scheduled a dugout canoe ride in order to explore narrow creeks and observing whatever Mother Nature provides. You will expect to see monkeys, sloths, iguanas, and very colorful birds which are considered to be in this unique ecosystem. A great dolphin observation awaits you in the afternoon. The naturalist will explain how dolphins adapted to a new life in the Amazon since they were ocean dwellers millions of years ago. Dinner will be followed by a night boat ride in search of caimans. The naturalist will not hesitate if wrestling is needed.

Day 3: Departure

According to your flight departure, you will be able to arrange activities for this last day.
