Short Nepal Wildlife Tour

Hotel Rainforest is an exciting combination of luxury and wildlife adventure in Chitwan National Park. They have large and beautiful gardens. Many rare indigenous trees, shrubs, and flowers attract various bird species which can be viewed from your personal balcony.


Day 1: Arrival in Chitwan

  • You should arrive in Chitwan by flight and drive or take the regular tourist bus / private transportation. After six hours' drive from Kathmandu or five hours from Pokhara, you will arrive at the hotel at about 13:00 to 14:00. It would be a good time to have some meal.
  • 15:00 Village tour and visiting Elephant Breeding Center: Of all the animals, elephants are probably the most graceful. The naturalists will take you to the Hattisar to demonstrate how elephants’ meals are prepared and how they eat in the Elephant Breeding Center. They will explain the nature and habits of elephants. The unique center was established in 1985 for the captive breeding of elephants trapped for domestication.
  • 18:30 Dinner
  • 19:00 Cultural program: In Chitwan, there are Tharu social groups who would show their unique performance. In the evening before dinner, Tharu cultural dance performances are used to be held. Along with this performance, you will be holding drinks and roasted meats to make you more entertained.

Day 2: Full-day jungle excursion tour

  • 08:00 Canoeing and jungle walk: Canoe ride is an active package program. This is included in every package. Canoe ride along the Rapti River will be an excellent opportunity for bird watching and for seeing the two rare species of crocodiles; the marsh mugger and the fish-eating gharial. You will take an exciting and invigorating walk through the lush sub-tropical jungles of Chitwan. The trained naturalists take you to prime spots to view deer, rhinos, sloth bears, and other wildlife. They will also give you interesting information about the various plants and animals of the jungle throughout your walk.

  • 13:30 Jeep safari: The jeep drive is one of the active and exciting activities for jungle safari. Jeep drive is included but on your special request, it can be done the day you refer. The jeep drive goes through the grasslands, river in forests, and sal forests to Kasara (the national park’s headquarters) gharial hatchery farm where you will learn about how crocodiles are brought up at this farm and then later released into the rivers.

  • 06:15 Birdwatching: Chitwan is the best destination for birdwatching. The birds found here are cormorants, lesser adjutant stork, blue Indian roller, hornbills, stork-billed kingfishers, grey-headed eagles, ruby-cheeked sunbird, Bengal florican, large-tailed night jar, Asian paradise flycatcher, beaters, and lesser florican, etc. More than 500 species have been recorded only in Chitwan.

This tour will take place in Chitwan National Park, Nepal. The highlights of Chitwan National Park are the 500 Asian one-horned rhinoceros and some hundred nocturnal royal Bengal tigers that live in the dense forests of the park.

You will discover a lost world of towering trees and twisting vines, pre-historic rhino and lumbering elephants, crocodile, python, deer, brilliantly-colored birds, and, if you are fortunate, the superb royal Bengal tiger. Sharing home with these are other animals like the rhesus monkey, grey langur, leopards and wild cats, etc.

Your accommodation, Hotel Rainforest, is situated in the center of Sauraha village (Elephant Chowk). Their position provides for a quiet and peaceful stay with easy access to the town facilities.

Arrival by airplane

Please book your flight to arrive at Bharatpur Airport (BHR). If you want to fly to Chitwan, please make a reservation for flights from Kathmandu to Bharatpur.

Arrival by bus

Chitwan is easily accessible from major cities of Nepal like Kathmandu, Pokhara, and Lumbini. There are several tourist bus services to and from Chitwan. Buses are also available directly from all entry points from India.

Cancellation Policy

  • A reservation requires a deposit of 14% of the total price.
  • The deposit is non-refundable, if the booking is cancelled.
  • The rest of the payment should be paid on arrival.
