Program

Day 1: Nyakalengija (1648 meters) - Nyabitaba hut (2651 meters)

Begin the day by approaching the Trek Rwenzori Tours head offices in the evening or early in the morning in order to check on hiking equipment if so and arrange for guides, chefs, and porters once. The trek starts from the park gate 1646 meters to Nyabitaba, a distance of seven kilometers, takes four to five hours, and an ascent of 1200 meters. The trail at the beginning goes through homes and fields progressing through bamboo and high elephant grass dense bushes.

You will climb over the bluffs crossing River Mahoma then ascending steeply into Nyabitaba. Certain animals may be spotted such as the white and black colobus monkeys, three-horned chameleons, and the Rwenzori turaco birds. Stay overnight at Nyabitaba Camp.

Day 2: Nyabitaba Camp (2651 meters) - Guyeoman Camp (3505 meters)

From Nyabitaba camp, the trail takes you to the junction that connects the ant-clock-wise moment to the clock-wise. The clock-wise takes you through the bamboo forest to the Kichuchu bridge. After crossing the bridge, the trail takes you to the left through the Heather or Rupenia zone till to the Kichuchu rock where the trail again ascends steeply to Guyeoman camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Guyeoman Camp (3505 meters) - Kitandara Lakes Camp (4023 meters)

From Guyeoman Camp, the trail takes you to Bujongolo Rock Shelter a cultural rock that acted as a rock shelter for the duck of Abruzz in 1906. After the rock shelter, the trail ascends slowly through big up to the fresh field pass down to Kitandara Lakes Camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Kitandara Lakes Camp (4023 meters) - Weismans Peak (4620 meters)

The trail takes you through the Afro Alpine zone and certain animals may be sighted here like the Rwenzori red mountain duiker and rock hyraxes. This trail takes you to the top of Weismans Peak (4843 meters) and then you will return to Kitandara Lakes Camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Kitandara Lakes Camp - Guyeoman

After breakfast, your guides will lead you down to Geyeoman using the same trail that brought you up. You will have lunch in between then proceed to Geyeoman camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Guyeoman Camp - Nyabitaba

Below Guy Yeoman, the route descends the cliffs of Kichuchu. Beyond Kichuchu, the muddy path crosses the Mubuku River twice through a bamboo forest before climbing downwards to Nyabitaba to complete the circuit. Continue descending Nyabitaba Camp and complete your hike by the evening to park at the gate to end your six-day trek.
