During this safari, you will stay at The Vuyani Safari Lodge. With only 10 suites, the attention to guests’ requests and personal wishes takes on a very unique meaning. A 12-meter eternity pool, lounge chairs on the deck, an observation upper deck, a boma with an open fire for traditional South African braais, and individual decks (for both honeymoon suite chalets), will guarantee perfect relaxation when not on safari. The Vuyani Safari Lodge also offers free Wi-Fi internet connection throughout the lodge, good mobile phone reception, and international satellite TV, so you will never be out of touch with the world.

During this safari honeymoon, you will go on two daily game drives in an open 4x4 safari vehicle. Highly experienced and knowledgeable rangers who know the huge estate of 36,000 acres inside out, will help you discover the true extent of the richness and complexity of the African bush. Each safari drive will typically last about 3-3.5 hours. These two game drives will be divided into morning and afternoon safari drives. The morning drive will start at approximately 06:00 o'clock, to capture the most beautiful moments of African wilderness.

You will take a coffee break during the drive, usually near one of the 20 lakes at the Moditlo Reserve, where you can observe hippos and hundreds of different bird species against the backdrop of the impressive Drakensberg mountains. The ranger and you will set off for your afternoon drive at about 16:00 o'clock, which will last until the early evenings. This is prime time to view lions and leopards going out on their nocturnal hunts. After gazing at a breathtaking African sunset, there will be a mouth-watering dinner awaiting you back at the safari lodge.

Your daily safari drive will take place at Moditlo Private Game Reserve. Set within the beautiful Blue Canyon Conservancy exceeding 36,000 acres of pristine African bush land, the reserve is a sanctuary of Africa's rarest and most protected species. Rhinos, elephants, lions, cheetahs, and leopards, to just name a few, roam freely through the reserve, making the reserve a perfect African safari destination. Almost 400 species of birds inhabit the reserve alone.

Several highly endangered species, such as the ground hornbill, the African wild dog, brown hyena, and many others have settled at Moditlo and have started breeding. The location at the foot of the dramatic and famous Drakensberg mountains, its numerous lakes, rich and varied wildlife as well as unrivaled natural beauty make the Moditlo Game Reserve an unforgettable destination for safari holidays. The reserve's immediate proximity to the Kruger National Park offers the chance of visiting the world's largest nature reserve in the world while staying at the Vuyani Safari Lodge. The nearest Kruger Park gate to the Moditlo Private Game Reserve is the Orpen Gate.

Your safari honeymoon will come complete with daily breakfast, lunch, and a three-course dinner. There will also be a list of alcoholic and soft drinks to be enjoyed all day with coffee / tea / juices for breakfast and lunch. The cuisine will be a mixture of refined European and typically South African influences. If you have any dietary requirements, such as vegetarian, vegan, halal, gluten-free, low sodium, non-lactose, and nut or peanut allergies. You have to let them know prior to your arrival. However, The Vuyani Safari Lodge does not at this moment have kosher facilities. Kosher meals can be catered for, but must be flown in from Johannesburg at an extra cost.

  • A hot air ballooning trip

"Just in the airport returning home after 7 nights at this wonderful lodge. Amazing experiences daily with our guide & driver Hendricks & Aggy. The only miss off our wish list was wild dogs but that didn't bother us as every drive was so good. Be prepared for 'white knuckle' rides, fortunate that Hendricks is such an exceptional driver. We have experienced a number of safaris before, generally in areas with high game populations but this is much more intimate & ,at times, challenging. You perhaps have to work harder to see the game but this isn't a disadvantage as you then truly value each sighting. The main benefit for me was the close proximity to the animals & their kills, much more of an off road experience. To hear the animals crunching the bones & being able to even smell the kill adds a whole new dimension. We stayed in the Presidential Suite, a huge well appointed room with a large decked area with jacuzzi hot tub. The 3 ladies kept the accommodation spotlessly clean with the room services 3 times daily. All staff so friendly & professional, they make the trip so relaxing. Food was very good with a daily change of venue & content. One night Braai( BBQ), a la carte & buffet . Fantastic value for money, memories that we will treasure. Our thanks to all who contributed to this wonderful stay."

"I have just returned from a 7 night stay at Vuyani & will treasure the memories of my visit forever. I stayed in one of the luxury suites which was superbly comfortable & was kept immaculately clean throughout my stay. Each member of staff went out of their way to ensure that guests were given a 5* service & no request seemed too much. More importantly (for me), the staff told me that they genuinely enjoyed working at Vuyani & were treated well by the management team, this was reflected in the high level of service & genuine warmth that emanated from them. The safari drives were amazing, not only did I see an unbelievable amount of wildlife, but the actual drives themselves (& the skill of the driving) were a thrill a minute. This was my first experience of safari & I do not think I could have made a better choice, the close encounters that we had would not be possible on a larger reserve. I also have to make a special mention of the excellent chefs & the quality of the food provided, I am vegan & each meal provided was extremely tasty. There were other guests who also required special diets of varying sorts & no dietary request seemed beyond the skills of the chefs. My only complaint about staying at Vuyani is that after week of being pampered to such a level that I almost felt uncomfortable with it (I'm not use to being pandered to), it's a disappointment to have to return to the grind of real life again. I deliberately chose to stay at Vuyani at the end of my holiday as I doubted that any other experience could top it & I was absolutely right."

"Both my husband and I had a wonderful time at the Vuyani SL. SA. The lodge was clean and all arrangements were excellent. T.J our safari driver and his guide K were beyond excellent. They did everything possible to make the game drives an unparalleled experience. Our driver, Jani was not only an excellent navigator but a walking encyclopedia on local history and politics in South Africa. We hardly felt the tedium of the six hour drive to Johannesburg with him. The staff was excellent too. Thank you everyone!"

"My husband and I absolutely loved the lodge. The rooms were gorgeous and the staff was awesome. Everyone made you feel right at home. The food was also delicious. I would highly recommend it. It was everything we expected and more. For the ladies, you have to make sure to get a massage. It was the best I have ever had!"

"The Vuyani Safari Lodge is amazing from the moment we arrived to the day we left. We were well looked after. Togara gave us the most incredible game drive experiences and the highlight was seeing a lion kill from start to finish. I would recommend this place 100%."
