Upon arrival, you’ll go on an afternoon game drive until you arrive at the lodge around 5-6 p.m. Your overnight stay will be at Sopa Mara Lodge. The Masai Mara is home to the “Big Five” and is the best place to witness the Great Migration from July to November.

  • Best time to visit: June to October (for general wildlife viewing) and August to October (for wildebeest migration)
  • High season: June to October and December to March

The Mara is situated in the southwest of Kenya and covers an area of 1,510 square km (583 square miles). This is a land of breathtaking vistas, abundant wildlife, and endless plains. The reserve is home to an excellent year-round concentration of game, including the more than two million wildebeest, zebras, and other antelopes that make up the famous Great Migration.

  • Main destination: Masai Mara National Reserve (Kenya)
  • Accommodation: Masai Mara Sopa Lodge, a mid-range lodge located inside Masai Mara NR (Kenya)
  • Meals & drinks: All meals included, drinking water (other drinks not included)

Day 4: Masai Mara National Reserve - Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, you will drive to Isebania on the Kenya-Tanzania border to get your visa and then drive to Serengeti National Park for a game drive. Your overnight stay will be at the Kati Kati Camp.

The endless Serengeti plains are the setting for the world’s greatest wildlife spectacle—the 1.5 million wildebeest migrating in search of fresh pastures. Each year they trek over 2,500km under the threat of some of Africa’s greatest predators. Depending on the time of your visit, your driver-guide will be able to share with you where the herd’s current location is in the park.

  • Main destination: Serengeti National Park (Tanzania)
  • Best time to visit: January to February and June to October (different areas are best at different times)
  • High season: July to March (the Seronera area is crowded)
  • Best weather: June to October (little to no rainfall)
  • Accommodation: Serengeti Kati Kati Tented Camp, a mid-range tented camp located inside Central Serengeti (Tanzania)
  • Meals & drinks: All meals included, drinking water (other drinks not included)

Day 5: Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, you will proceed with your game drive in the Central Serengeti. Your overnight will be at the Kati Kati Tented Camp. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, and drinking water will be provided.

Serengeti National Park is the world's last great wildlife refuge. It is home to an estimated three million large animals, most of which take part in a seasonal migration that is one of nature's wonders. The park’s area covers 14,763 sq km and the name Serengeti comes from the Maasai word “Siringet,” meaning endless plains.

  • Main destination: Serengeti National Park (Tanzania)
  • Accommodation: Serengeti Kati Kati Tented Camp, a mid-range tented camp located inside Central Serengeti (Tanzania)
  • Meals & drinks: All meals included, drinking water (other drinks not included)

Day 6: Serengeti National Park - Ngorongoro Conservation Area

After a half-day game drive in the Serengeti, you will drive to the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater. Your overnight stay will be at the Ngorongoro Rhino Lodge. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, and drinking water will be provided.

There are several resident lion prides within a one-hour drive of the Seronera. During the dry season, these prides begin to shift north and west and concentrate in the central region of the park. This makes the dry season a great time for seeing lions. The Central Serengeti is also one of the best areas in Africa to spot the elusive leopard. You may be lucky enough to encounter this majestic cat in the branches of the sausage trees that dot the banks of the Seronera River.

  • Main destination: Ngorongoro Crater (Tanzania)
  • Best time to visit: June to October (wildlife viewing is best)
  • High season: Most of the year – July to March (expect crowds)
  • Best weather: June to October (rainfall is little to none)
  • Accommodation: Rhino Lodge, a mid-range lodge located on the crater rim of Ngorongoro Crater (Tanzania)
  • Meals & drinks: All meals included, drinking water (other drinks not included)

Day 7: Ngorongoro Crater - Zanzibar

After a 6:30 a.m. breakfast, you’ll descend into the crater for a game drive. Later in the day, you’ll drive to Arusha and then make your way to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your flight to Zanzibar. Your overnight stay will be at the Tembo Hotel. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, and drinking water will be provided.

Often called the eighth natural wonder of the world, the Ngorongoro Crater is the largest intact crater in the world. About two million years ago the Ngorongoro volcano erupted and then collapsed. The sinking volcano floor created a natural enclosure with 600 m tall walls.

Now, over 19 kilometers wide, the Ngorongoro Crater is filled with great areas of acacia forest, hippo-filled swamps, and open grasslands. These different habitats contain over 30,000 animals —including elephants, warthogs, flamingoes, magnificent birdlife, the rare black rhinoceros, and all the predatory cats. The Maasai people can also be seen grazing their cattle alongside the buffalo and wildebeest.

  • Main destination: Ngorongoro Crater (Tanzania)
  • Accommodation: Tembo House Hotel & Apartments, a mid-range hotel located at Zanzibar (Beach, Tanzania)
  • Meals & drinks: Breakfast & lunch (dinner not included), drinking water (other drinks not included)

Day 8: Zanzibar Island

At 9 a.m., you will be picked up from the hotel and taken on a tour of Stone Town, where history appears to stand still. You’ll visit the House of Wonders, the palace museum (People's Palace), Dr Livingston's house, and the Arab fort (among other locations). You will see Zanzibar's bustling market, winding alleyways, ornately carved and studded doors, two cathedrals, and countless mosques.

After lunch, you will be taken by boat to Prison Island to see the turtles and go snorkeling. Later you will make your way to the Z Hotel for your overnight stay.

  • Main destination: Zanzibar Island (Beach, Tanzania)
  • Accommodation: Z Hotel, a luxury hotel located at Zanzibar (beach, Tanzania)
  • Meals & drinks: Breakfast (lunch & dinner not included), drinking water (other drinks not included)

Days 9-11: Nungwi

  • Main destination: Nungwi (Zanzibar, Tanzania)
  • Accommodation: Z Hotel, a luxury hotel located at Zanzibar (beach, Tanzania)
  • Meals & drinks: Breakfast (lunch & dinner not included), drinking water (other drinks not included)

Day 12: Zanzibar Island

Today you will be transferred to the Zanzibar airport for your flight back home.
