Day 1: Airport transfer and sunset cruise

Upon arrival, you will be meet at the Victoria Falls International Airport (VFA) by a Tamuka Travel guide (carrying a sign board with your name on it), who will transfer you to your hotel to check in.

At 16:00, you will be picked up from the hotel for the sunset cruise. On the cruise, you will sail along the banks of the Zambezi River and view spectacular scenery as you sip on a refreshing beverage (local beers and spirits are served) and indulge in mouth-watering snacks. This area - home to the legendary “laughing hippos,” “singing birds,” and “snapping crocodiles” - is a stunning natural sanctuary.

Kick back as you enjoy professional hospitality. See “The Smoke that Thunders” as you gently cruise the upper Zambezi River. Learn about myths and legends as the guides share stories of the local tribes. Experience the Zambezi as David Livingstone once did when he journeyed the waters on his way to the falls. Observe aquatic bird life and other interesting species. If you’re lucky, you may even witness the great African elephant swimming from island to island or grazing along the river banks.

During the course of this relaxing 2.5-hour guided cruise, you will be served a delectable three-course meal to remember. After the cruise, you will be transported back to your hotel.

Day 2: Guided Victoria Falls tour

Day two begins with a morning pickup from your hotel at 9:00 a.m. for a guided tour of one of the most compelling sites in the world, Victoria Falls. This cascading pillar of water powers its way down a 100-metre chasm, taking your breath away as you gaze in awe at its incredible strength and beauty. As you take in the natural wonder, you will be enthralled to see and feel “The Smoke that Thunders.”

Tour guides ensure that the best photo opportunities are indicated on the tour, while fascinating visitors with captivating information on the history, flora, fauna and wildlife of this world heritage site.

Generally, the trip lasts 2 to 2.5 hours, depending on how much time tourists want to spend taking photos and admiring the scenic views. Raincoats are provided when needed. Also, there is a café in the rainforest where tourists can have something to drink or eat before being transferred to their hotel.

At around 12:30, your local guide will take you to The Lookout Café, where lunch will be provided with a spectacular view. This eatery is perched 120 meters above the turbulent rapids of the Zambezi River, offering what many consider to be the best view in Victoria Falls. At the restaurant, you will be able to select your lunch from a tasty à la carte menu as you relax and take in the amazing views. Alcoholic drinks as well as non-alcoholic drinks can be purchased from the well-stocked cash bar.

After lunch, you will make your way to the local craft market. Here, you will be able to view and purchase gifts and souvenirs, such as skillfully carved wooden articles in the form of ornaments, dishes and bowls, as well as many other attractive and useful objects. See the colorful dyed and painted tablecloths, aprons, cushion covers and wall-hangings. Enjoy life-sized metal sculpted wild animals. There are also smaller painted metal lifelike birds and animals, which are often used as features in gardens.
