Tamuka Travel's ultimate safari package takes nature lovers across Eastern and Southern Africa to explore the great outdoors in a true African style. Get to experience lunch at the Lookout Café which is 120 meters above the Zambezi River! On this tour, provisions are made for food, accommodation, and transfers.
Accommodation in Tanzania will be at boutique hotels and campsites in national parks or conservation areas. In Kenya, you will be accommodated at a four-star hotel and the accommodation in Victoria Falls will be provided at Victoria Falls Safari Lodge.
Arrive at the Kilimanjaro airport near Arusha town to meet the professional guide (holding a signboard with your name on it) who will collect and transport you to your place of accommodation which is approximately one hour away. If you prefer, Tamuka Travel can arrange to collect you from the hotel.
The tour kicks off with a brief welcome meeting and the opportunity to enjoy some sightseeing in Arusha should you have enough time. Alternatively, relax after your international flights as there are no scheduled activities for the day. In the evening, you’ll be taken out for a pleasant dinner at a favorite local restaurant. Here, you will learn all about the tribes, Tanzania, and its beautiful surroundings. After a good fill of satisfying food and conversation, you will return to your hotel to wash up and rest.
Around 8:30 a.m., after breakfast at your accommodation, you will be picked up by your driver-guide who will be your guardian friend and confidant for the next seven days. You will start your drive to Tarangire National park, which is two to three hours away. Hemmingway often went on big game hunting safaris in Tarangire which is known for its high density of elephants.
You will have a picnic lunch at a location within the park, followed by game drives until early evening. Dinner and overnight stay will be at Kichuguu Camp, located inside Tarangire National Park. The camp offers guests an African flair, combining gourmet Swahili cuisine with Tanzanian service and style! Kichuguu Camp is perfectly situated in a quiet woodland between the Tarangire River basin and Silale Swamp.
In the early morning, you will receive a wakeup call with a hot cup of tea or coffee and breakfast at the camp. As you are camping near the river basin, which is full all year round, you have an excellent opportunity to spot many animals from the surrounding areas that come to the river for a drink. This is also a good opportunity to spot nocturnal animals such as lions or leopard.
After breakfast, begin your journey to the entrance of the Serengeti National Park via the beautiful Ngorongoro Conservation Area. You will notice the cooler air of the Highlands before the Serengeti literally unfolds before you with rolling savannah planes. The Serengeti is one of Africa’s utmost conservation areas where the annual Wildebeest Migration takes place from November to July.
Throughout the year, this park offers excellent game viewing opportunities. Your stay will be at Kiota Camp in the center of the Serengeti. With only twelve tents, the camp maintains a quiet presence within the surrounding woodlands and grasslands.
Waking up in the heart of the central Serengeti gives you access to year-round game viewing, especially in the Seronera Valley, famous for its healthy population of big cats. The Wildebeest Migration passes through twice a year too, around April/May and again in November. After breakfast, embark on a morning game drive which will have a different feel to the south due to the animals that live in the short grass plains and kopjes of the north. Today, you’ll have the option of either a full day game drive or return to camp for lunch, afternoon siesta, and then an evening drive to spot animals as the day cools.
Have a sunrise game drive in Serengeti at 6 a.m. to view wildlife while making your way to the Ngorongoro Highlands before descending into the crater. Descending into the Ngorongoro crater is a highlight for most, a massive collapsed volcano is home to over 25,000 species and home to the Big Five: lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino, and leopard. If you’re very lucky, you may spot these all on a one-afternoon game drive.
The annual wildebeest and zebra migration pass through Ngorongoro, with the area suddenly becoming home for another 1.7 million inhabitants from December to June. For bird enthusiasts, you’ll be delighted to know the area has 500 species of birds including ostrich, pelican, and flamingo.
Depending on the season, your stay will be at Chaka Mobile Camp which follows the wildebeest migration and moves seasonally from Northern Serengeti to Ndutu. An elegant camp with eleven en suite tents and a team of highly trained staff, Chaka Camp offers privacy and comfort in the middle of the Serengeti wilderness.
After breakfast, drive through Ngorongoro Conservation Area for an early morning game drive on your way to Lake Manyara. Lake Manyara National Park is one of the smaller parks with a shallow, ephemeral lake no more than four meters deep. What it lacks in size, it makes up for in beauty, with stunning landscapes from forests to flood plains and acacia woodlands.
The unique landscapes offer a home for more than 400 species of birds, so this is truly a worthwhile stop for bird enthusiasts. If you are very lucky, you may glimpse the renowned “tree climbing” lions that live in the park. To maximize your time in the park, picnic lunch will be had near the natural hot springs followed by an afternoon game drive before leaving to Karatu for your overnight stay. Karatu is a popular overnight stay for safari-goers which is home to brightly colored tuk-tuks, Maasai herders, oxcarts, and farmers.
On this morning, you will have breakfast at your camp before going on one last morning game drive before making your way to the airport. Please note that there is a bit of travel today to get to Kilimanjaro airport. Once at the airport, it’s time to sadly bid farewell to your guide who will feel like part of the family after your adventure in Tanzania.
You will be flying Kenya Airways which departs around 3 p.m. and takes an hour to fly to Nairobi. After arriving in Nairobi, you will be transferred to a nearby hotel to relax and prepare for your journey to Victoria Falls.
On this day, rise early for your flight from Nairobi to Victoria Falls. You’ll be in the air for about two hours, arriving in Victoria Falls around 10 a.m. Keep a lookout for Mosi-oa-Tunya (The Smoke that Thunders) before landing. You will be met at the Victoria Falls airport by your Tamuka Travel guide, carrying a signboard with your name on it, then transferred to the hotel.
To end the day, go on a sunset cruise down the majestic Zambezi River. This is a fantastic time to be on the river to observe wildlife as they come down to the river for their last drink. Slowly make your way along the Zambezi River and witness one of the most beautiful sunsets on the African continent.
You can experience nature’s beauty and splendor with a refreshing drink which is all-inclusive. The Zambezi cruise takes around two hours, after which the enchanting allure of the evening settles over the river in time for the lanterns to come out with a wonderful three-course dinner.
You will be picked up from your hotel at 8:30 a.m. after you have had a chance to relax and get some breakfast. You'll be taken on a guided tour of Victoria Falls to witness one of the greatest shows on earth, the raging waters of the Zambezi River crashing into the Batoka Gorge. This experience takes you through parts of the Victoria Falls Rain forest to the cliffs opposite the massive cascade. From here, you'll get the best view of the main falls.
Your local guide will tell you interesting facts about the geology, wildlife, and history of Africa’s most famous landmark. Get ready to witness the remarkable power of nature and a spectacle you will remember for a lifetime. Please remember to bring cash to pay the park entrance fee at the gate.
Your local guide will then take you to Lookout Café where lunch is provided with a spectacular view. It is perched 120 meters above the turbulent rapids of the Zambezi River, which is undoubtedly the best view in Victoria Falls. You can select your lunch from the À la carte menu while you relax and take in the amazing views. Alcoholic drinks and non-alcoholic drinks can be bought from the cash bar.
This evening, you’ll have a traditional Boma Dinner. Tonight, you’ll enjoy an indulgent dinner infused with Zimbabwean cuisine which is guaranteed to be an experience like no other! You will be assigned a waiter who looks after you during your dinner and show, explaining the various options available to you.
Pending your onward travel arrangements, you still have the chance to do other activities or to visit the local market for souvenirs to take home before you depart.
Tanzania and Zimbabwe have incredible landscapes from the open Savanah to the dense teak forests, with a huge array of wildlife and culture. The parks you’ll visit have the biggest numbers and variety of wildlife in all of Africa, if not the world. You’ll be seeing one of the seven wonders of the world, Victoria Falls, and one of the seven wonders of Africa, the Ngorongoro Crater, which is the biggest volcanic caldera in the world.
Victoria Falls is a place of fun, excitement, adventure, relaxation, and African culture where people can appreciate the awesome power and beauty of nature. It’s the ideal destination for vacationers and holiday-goers! The only question is, how do you want to experience the Falls?
Daily breakfast, lunch, and dinner will be provided during the tour at the hotel and at the campsites. Snacks will also be provided during the sunset cruise in Victoria Falls as well as unlimited drinks and some alcoholic drinks.
