Visit one of the places with the greatest biodiversity in the world, the Tambopata River in the Peruvian Amazon. This wildlife tour is ideal for people who wish to spend time in the jungle in all its splendor while still very close to the city without having to travel too long.
Tambopata River Bungalows has seven bungalows or cabins all with stunning views of the Tambopata River, each with a terrace and private bathroom. Reception and transfer from the airport or land terminal by car to Tambopata River, passing through the city, main avenues, local market, parade ground, port captaincy, and continental bridge. Arrive at Tambopata River Bungalows where you will be welcomed by the family that will assist you during your stay. Enjoy a typical arrival drink and have lunch.
After a restful break, have an interpretative walk through the forest (two hours approximately). Learn to identify the abundant flora and fauna in the area. Return to your accommodation afterwards.
Upon returning, you can rest and watch the sunset in front of the Tambopata River. If you wish, you can enjoy a refreshing swim in the Tambopata River itself, unforgettable experience especially in summer time (May to September).
At nightfall, begin a night walk through the forest, where you can listen to the fauna of the area and with the possibility of seeing some of them, helped with flashlights. Return to the bungalow afterwards for dinner and overnight.
After breakfast, you will leave for Sandoval Lake. Embark on a boat, in which you will travel along the Madre de Dios River to the entrance of the lake for an approximate time of 45 minutes. Here, you will disembark and walk a few minutes to reach the control point of Sandoval Lake. Register and present your entrance tickets, since this lake is located in the Tambopata National Reserve.
Then continue with the trip, making a three kilometer walk. During this tour, you will have the chance to see a great variety of flora and, with luck, a variety of fauna such as birds, monkeys, rodents, insects, reptiles, and amphibians.
When you reach the shores of the lake, you will embark on a rowing boat, led by your guide, and take a walk around this wonderful lake, where you can, with luck, observe birds such as shanshos, macaws, auroras, as well as among the palm trees of water and trees, some species of monkeys, and navigating the waters you will appreciate the taricayas (podocnemisunifilis) lizards and the best attraction in the Sandoval lake, the river wolves.
After enjoying a refreshing and relaxing bath in the waters of this lake, you will taste a delicious and typical jungle box lunch.
In the afternoon, coordinate the time with your guide and leave the lake to reach the bank of the Madre de Dios River, where the boat will be waiting for you to board and when you return to the city, you will find a beautiful sunset that will blow your memories in a natural landscape of the jungle sky. Return to the bungalow afterwards for dinner and overnight.
After breakfast, depart by car towards the sector called La Cachuela, where after an etnobotanical walk in the forest you will can go on activities such as canopy walk to Puente Colgante, zip line, and kayaking.
Enjoy lunch and a visit to local family. Return to Tambopata River Bungalow afterwards for dinner and overnight.
After breakfast, you will have a tour to the Tambopata Tourist Corridor where you will visit the Amazon Shelter and appreciate the work of rescue and conservation of the wild fauna. Afterwards, you will visit a family farm where you can appreciate its different plantations and local crianzas, ending in the visit to the giant of the corridor.
Have lunch and free afternoon or take the opportunity to visit a country restaurant with a pool. After dinner, you will have an activity called Caymaneo, which consists of a night tour by boat on the banks of the Tambopata River where there is the possibility of seeing alligators and other nocturnal fauna in the area in their natural habitat.
After breakfast, leave for the airport according to your travel program.
