You will be staying in Sampa Inn or Lion Hotel in Kathmandu for three days and Greenwood Hotel in Kanchanpur for three days either on shared or private basis. For nights in cities, Swotah Travel and Adventure use standard / superior standard / deluxe rooms and during trip Swotah Travel and Adventure use lodge / guest houses / hotel whatever is available and accessible.


Shuklaphanta National Park is the smallest national park and wildlife reserve in Nepal. During the seven-day safari you will get to enjoy riverbeds, wetlands and open grasslands with a large number of swamp deer. It is one of the best examples of floodplain grassland conservation. As the area is unexplored and untouched, you can enjoy your trip with less number of people.

It used to be wildlife reserve for 40 years before it transformed into the national park and was a famous hunting reserve too. You can observe numerous forests full of Sal, Khair, Trewia, Sisso, Syzgium, and Mallotus. You will get to experience jungle safari, jeep safari, and sightseeing.

During the safari, you can spot wild elephant, tiger, panther, deer, wild pigs, bear, wild ass, stag, chital, porcupine and other reptiles and animals.The one-horned rhinoceroses and Bengal tiger are also conserved in this area. It is famous spot for bird watching as well. It is also a preferred trekking destination. This place is rich in culture and therefore you can take a glimpse of Tharu culture, tradition, and lifestyle.


Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu, Nepal

When you arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport (KTM), Swotah Travel and Adventure's representatives will be there to welcome you and help you to transfer to your hotel (Sampa Inn/ Lion Hotel). In the evening, Swotah Travel and Adventure have organized a heartwarming welcome dinner for you, where they will also briefly discuss the trip details with you.

Day 2: Flight to Dhangadi and drive to Kanchanpur

After breakfast at the hotel, you will head to the airport for your flight to Dhangadi. Once you land in Dhangadi, you will be driven to Kanchanpur, the journey will take around two hours. In Kanchanpur, you will check into Greenwood Hotel which would be your place of stay for tonight and the coming two nights. After check-in observe the sunset view from the hotel.

Day 3: Jungle safari and bird watching

Start your day by observing the sunrise view from your hotel and then head for your jungle safari. After the safari, you will go for a jungle walk, where you will get to see from close different species of birds, flora, and fauna. In the evening, after dinner at hotel, you will be taken to watch the local community Tharu's cultural dance. After the dance you will head back to your hotel.

Day 4: Jeep safari and trekking

Early in the morning you will go for the jeep safari and after that start trekking at Shuklaphanta National Park, where you will shown the cultural significance of Tharu people and the natural diversity of national park as well as you can observe various species of flora and fauna, rivers, ponds, and so on. After the walk you will return back to your hotel.

Day 5: Grasslands and wetlands visit and return to Dhangadi, flight to Kathmandu

After having breakfast at the hotel, you will go for a visit to the grasslands and wetlands, where you can capture the moments of swamp deer and other faunas. Then, you will head back to Dhangadi by bus. From there you will head to the airport for a flight from Dhangadi to Kathmandu. You will be staying overnight at the either hotel Sampa Inn or Lion Hotel.

Day 6: Half-day sightseeing around Kathmandu

After breakfast, you will go for a half day sight-seeing tour in Kathmandu at Basantapur Durbar Square after that you can go for shopping, food, and wine tour or anything according to your preference. You will be staying overnight at the either hotel Sampa Inn or Lion Hotel.

Day 7: Departure from Kathmandu

According to your flight status, on this day Swotah Travel and Adventure will meet for a farewell coffee or lunch and share the memories made all those days. You will depart for the airport after a while and Swotah Travel and Adventure bid you goodbye until the next meet.

This safari adventure will take place in Shuklaphanta National Park, Nepal. You will begin your journey in Kathmandu from where you will be travelling to Kanchanpur via Dhangadi to reach Shuklaphanta National Park. After three days in the national park you will return and end your journey in Kathmandu.

Shuklaphanta, the smallest National Park of Nepal was declared as a hunting reserve in 1969 and then later on changed as a wildlife reserve in 1976 but from 2017, it was transformed into a national park. Lying in the Terai region of far western Nepal, it is full of open grasslands, forests, riverbeds, and tropical wetlands with an area of 305 square kilometers.

The elevation of the national park is from 174 meters to 1,386 meters (571-feet to 4547-feet), one of the best examples of floodplain grasslands. Various activities can be carried out such as jungle safari, bird watching, take a glimpse of diverse flora and fauna, jeep safari, sightseeing, and so on, alike Chitwan National Park.


All meals are inclusive during the trip besides lunch and dinner in Kathmandu. Food menu includes vegetarian and non-vegetarian food from Nepali, Indian, and continental style. Since this tour is around the Kathmandu and Suklaphanta so you can get wide range of delicious western meals like pasta, noodles, pizzas, bread, soup etc.

Please note that for drinking water there are plenty of water stations and mini markets and shops where you can easily get bottled water. Swotah Travel and Adventure recommend that you bring water purifier tablets with you in case you need it for yourself. You have to buy it for yourself.
