During the safari, you will stay in hotels, tea houses, and camp provided by Swotah Travel and Adventure as per itinerary. They include, among other, Sampada Inn / Hotel Lion, Hotel Westwood or similar, Bardia Eco Lodge or similar, a camp in Babai Valley, and a hotel in Greenwood or similar. In Kathmandu, your accommodation will be standard / deluxe rooms in twin / double sharing with breakfast.

Program

Day 1: Arrival

Arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport (KTM) at any time, you will be received with gratitude and directly transferred to the hotel. If time supports, you will be going sightseeing in the Thamel area and a welcome dinner will be organized for you to experience Nepal’s authenticity. Overnight stay at Sampada Inn / Hotel Lion.

Day 2: Sightseeing at Bhaktapur and Nagarkot

After breakfast, you will lead to Bhaktapur for sightseeing, where you will get to perceive the ethnic art and architecture of the Newar community. From there, you will pay a visit to Changunaryan Temple, which is the oldest temple of Nepal. Then, you will move towards Nagarkot to spend the night.

Day 3: Drive to Chitwan

Along with the beautiful sunrise and fascinating view of gigantic mountain ranges, you will have your breakfast at the hotel and then move towards Chitwan. About eight hours’ drive takes you to Chitwan, which lies in the lowland of Terai region. Reaching there, first, you will visit the elephant breeding center. Overnight stay at Hotel Westwood or similar.

Day 4: Canoeing

Early in the morning after breakfast, you will start your day at Chitwan with canoeing on Rapti River and trek in the national park to explore what it has to offer, you can observe beautiful sunset as well. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 5: Chitwan exploration and Jeep safari

Next morning, after breakfast, you will go for Tharu village tour. Right after, you will hop on a Jeep for safari, where you can also arrange bird watching program for you as per your preference. Then, you will visit the crocodile hatching farm and, in the evening, after dinner, you will go for Tharu cultural show. Afterward, you will go back to the hotel and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 6: Transfer to Bardiya National Park

After an early morning breakfast, you will start your journey of around seven hours towards Nepalgunj. Reaching there, you will drive to Bardiya National Park, which takes around five hours. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 7: Explore Bardiya National Park

Your heart will be aroused with the idea of the national park tour and therefore after breakfast, you will go for the jungle trek, where you can carry out various activities such as bird watching, visit crocodile breeding center, elephant breeding center, pay a visit to temples, and so on. If you are lucky you can spot Gangetic dolphins called 'susu' in the local language. Overnight stay at Bardia Eco Lodge or similar.

Day 8: Camping at Babai Valley

Today, you will start your journey towards Babai Valley, which is named after Babai River, where you can spot rhino and different species of birds and therefore is famous for photography tour as well. As the place is untouched and unexplored, you have a hard time finding any hotel or lodges, which is why you will stay in camps.

Day 9: Transfer to Silgadhi

Start the day by taking breakfast. Later, you will start your journey towards Silgadhi. Silgadhi is the entrance point for you to trek to Khaptad National park. After reaching Silgadhi, you will take a good rest and prepare for the trek tomorrow.

Day 10: Trek to Jhigrana

Your actual trek commences from Silgadhi to Jhigrana. Jhigrana is about seven hours far from Silgadhi on foot. Upon reaching Jhigrana, you will stop your trek and spend the night in the tea house.

Day 11: Trek to Khaptad

Today is the day when you finally reach your ultimate destination, Khaptad. It’s a short trek from Bukipani to Khaptad that lasts about two hours. Soon after you reach Khaptad, lunch is served followed by the sightseeing of Khaptad Baba ashram and Triveni.

Day 12: Explore Khaptad National Park

Khaptad National Park is nature’s haven for those who enjoy a wide diversity of vegetation and wildlife. Beautiful meadows, lake, and lush forests are the main attractions of Khaptad National Park. You can get lost among the natural beauty of Khaptad or go see flora and fauna, either way, both are equally rewarding. There are many religious sites in Khaptad that can suit your taste. Overnight at a tea house.

Day 13: Trek to Jhigrana

After the wonderful stay at Khaptad, you will bid farewell and return back to Jhigrana using the same route.

Day 14: Trek to Mahendranagar

From Jhigarna, you will further trek to Mahendranagar. After walking for about five hours, you will finally reach your today’s destination and end your trekking.

Day 15: Explore Shuklaphanta National Park

With the sunrise view from the hotel, you will have your breakfast and start your day with a trek into the national park, where you can catch a sight of different types of flora and fauna, various species of birds, grasslands, woodlands, wetlands, riverine, and many more. In the evening, you will back to the hotel in Greenwood or similar for an overnight stay.

Day 16: Jeep safari

Day 17: Drive to Dhangadi, Fly to Kathmandu

Today, after the breakfast, you will drive towards the Dhangadi from where you take a flight to Kathmandu that lasts for about one and a half hours. After reaching Kathmandu, you will be transferred to the hotel for relaxation. After the lunch, you will go for sightseeing of the major attraction of Kathmandu.

Day 18: Departure

The day has come to bid you goodbye with heavy hearts. you will have a farewell lunch or at least a sip of coffee if time allows and share those bittersweet memories. You will give you souvenirs and see you head off to the airport.

This safari will take you to Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Nagarkot, Chitwan National Park, Bardiya National Park, Sukla Phanta National Park, and Khaptad National Park in Nepal. Nepal is a tiny country, yet filled with lots of surprises. Wherever you travel, you will have a unique experience, either it is an adventurous activity or a cultural tour. Due to diverse geography and environment, it is home to different species of flora and fauna.

Basically, Nepal a into three different regions according to the landscape and climate. With the changing environment, you get to see what alluring beauty this small country is. You can carry out mountaineering in the Himalayan region, trekking, rafting and village tours in Hilly region and jungle safari. Nepal is not only perfect destination for alpinist but also suitable for green panthers as safari provides you that opportunity to be close with nature and its creations.

Food

In this safari, you will be served breakfast, lunch, and dinner. You will also get welcome and farewell dinner in Kathmandu. Swotah Travel and Adventure can serve vegetarian, vegan, and non-vegetarian food as per request. This region provides a few western meals like pasta, noodles, bread, soup, etc. Dal Vhat (rice, lentils, and vegetables) is a great option to gain energy for the strenuous trek.

There are plenty of water stations on each stop on the route. You can easily fill up the bottle from the open taps. It is recommended that you bring water purifier tablets with you or at least get it from Kathmandu before you depart for trekking. You can also buy mineral waters but tap water is usually recommended, which is pure and it helps not promoting plastic bottled water.
