The activities are de facto local community immersions. You will be visiting stunning eco-touristic facilities, connecting to the local nature conservation projects, and establishing the seeds for long-term friendships and potential collaborations you may want to continue later on.

The Suriki Reserve Program

Soul Dreamers has chosen the stunning Darien Delta in Colombia bordering Panama as a place for self-reintegration and a constructive healing pathway in connection to the beauty of the tropical jungle and its unique exotic animals. Here you will have a chance to listen to a myriad of sounds, see various types of monkeys and unique birds, and listen to a heartwarming family story of loss, resilience, forgiveness, and self-love.

The guests will start or deepen their own inner spiritual journeys by understanding the simplicity, harmony, and magic of the jungle forest. Carefully guided by the wonderful Jimenez Family and its rural eco-community which suffered hardships during Colombia’s internal conflict, the guests will have a chance to connect to the forests and wetlands.

You will flow with the river embarking on a boat along the waters of the Darien delta. You will marvel at the reflections on the water, the exotic flora, and the river's unique environment.

You will delve deep into the flooded rainforests, only accessible by boat, and find pristine aquatic gardens. You will observe and feel the wetlands, and connect with the abundant amphibians that inhabit every liquid surface.

You will connect with the Jiménez siblings and join their cause towards ecological leadership; engage with the local community, La Pola, to learn about their lifestyle - and their generational shift from exploitation to conservation.

You will explore the Suriki Reserve's ecosystems guided by the local youth, through their knowledge, and learn to identify the endemic flora and fauna.

You will collaborate with the Surikí Nature Reserve in their task to monitor local species, and learn about the Reserve's profile on species such as the jaguar, manatee, and spider monkey, along with other endangered species.

You will take part in the hosting family’s daily routines, and forest restoration efforts, and finish off the day listening to their life stories and the challenges they've overcome as a community.

Through the Soul Dreamers' experience, there will be a clearer understanding and healing of own emotional blockages, deepening self-love, reigniting creativity, and connecting to one's own deep heartfelt intuition of the road ahead.

Soul Dreamers will have a chance to inspire themselves, and their group peers, and strongly connect to the eco-community they will be visiting.

Participants will leave feeling transformed through a reconnection to themselves and their own personal circles inspired and guided to make a tangible change in their lives or the world around them.

Included excursions

You will be dwelling on and exploring the Darien delta river valley admiring the tropical ecosystem in its splendors from the town of Apartado all the way to the Suriki Reserve.

You will be running daily river boat excursions while entering the tropical forest while learning to identify plants and animals such as monkeys. You may even encounter traces of jaguars having walked by prior to you. Don't worry - they are not attacking groups of humans!

You will run an excursion to the village nearby to learn further on the cultural local traditions while also exploring ways of social impact support for their community.

You will be exploring the Jimenez family's large eco-farm taking part on daily chore activities such as animal catering or plant and fruit picking.

Guides

Enilda Jimenez

Social and environmental leader in the region, graduated in social psychology and with experience in healing and forgiveness processes through caring for nature. After having suffered the war through forced displacement and the murder of her father, she managed to meet her perpetrator, forgive him and return to her land with her 20 brothers where today they rebuild their lives by running an eco-farm, and restoring the forests nearby that the war also affected.

Location

The Suriki Reserve is located on the breathtaking delta valley of the Darien River bordering Panama in Northern Colombia. In order to reach the retreat one passes through 2:30 hours of pure nature eco-systemic beauty while riding a simple motor boat with the Jimenez family. The road to the retreat opens up a natural ecosystem of tropical birds and monkeys waving hello to the visitors.

The Suriki Reserve is located a 30-minute boat ride from a very small village nearby where one can also interact with the local population for a deeper cultural immersion. The remainder is nature, a heavenly mix of tropical plants and fauna ranging from jaguars, monkeys, and a vast array of tropical birds.

The food served by Suriki Reserve is their own eco-farm raised and vegetarian but they can cater for chicken and fish depending on guests requirements. It includes delicious plant-based dishes, and is fully organic.

A reservation requires a deposit of 14% of the total price.
The deposit is non-refundable, if the booking is cancelled.
The rest of the payment should be paid 15 days before arrival.
