The Sound of Silence tented resort is a luxurious safari resort in Serengeti, Tanzania. Here you can find, and enjoy, the magic of the Sound of Silence.

Rhino Lodge

Ideally located on the edge of the Ngorongoro crater rim, Rhino Lodge offers a perfect base from which to explore the Ngorongoro Crater and its surroundings. After 21:00 the generator is switched off and a limited amount of electricity is available from the storage batteries for lighting. After dark please be careful and never walk around the grounds unless you are accompanied by a member of the staff. One of the Askaris (watchmen) will accompany you to and from the dining room. They are also on duty throughout the night should you require assistance.

Program

Day 1: Zanzibar to Serengeti National Park

The driver will pick you up from the hotel and drive you to the airport in Zanzibar where you will catch a small plane that flies into the Serengeti Airstrip. Arrive in Serengeti and from there you will start a game drive up to the afternoon. You will head to the lodge for lunch before starting an evening game drive and enjoy a surreal sunset in the Serengeti. Later in the evening, drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater

After an early breakfast, you will embark on a game drive to various regions of the park. You will then return to the lodge for lunch. After lunch, you will check out and begin your game drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. You will arrive at the Ngorongoro Crater at Rhino Lodge just at the top of Ngorongoro Crater in the evening. Dinner and overnight at Rhino Lodge.

Day 3: Ngorongoro Crater to Zanzibar

After an early breakfast, you will descend into the Ngorongoro Crater. Inside this beautiful crater, you will experience Africa’s version of “Noah’s Ark”, with a vast variety of wildlife including elephants, hyenas, big cats, rhinos, and more. You will enjoy game drive up to the afternoon, then you ascend back up to the crater rim. You will return to the lodge for lunch. After lunch, drive back to Arusha airport for you to catch the evening flight back to Zanzibar.
