Witness the mountain gorillas in Uganda with this safari! Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is a habitat of close to half of the remaining gorillas in the whole world. That is why the government of Uganda saw it fit to habituate these endangered species to prevent their extinction. Gorilla tracking was introduced to facilitate, support, and protect these gentle giants.
During the safari, you will be staying in an accommodation provided by Simba Africa Expeditions. The options are:
As per briefing on the day before the safari, you will be picked from the hotel / place of residence at exactly 06:30 after breakfast to avoid the early morning traffic jam in the city. You will travel south-westwards through the districts of Wakiso, Mpigi, and Masaka while viewing the local livelihoods of the communities in the central region of Uganda.
Then, you will connect to Mbarara where you make a stopover for lunch at Agip Motel / Igongo Cultural Centre. After lunch, you will proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park through Bushenyi District, part of Kasese, through the southern section of Queen Elizabeth National Park. If you're lucky, you could see the tree climbing lions and other big games such as elephants, topis, and buffaloes.
You will continue to see the magnificent greenery and rolling hills of Kigezi and Kanungu districts which connect to Buhoma and parts of the Bwindi Forest. You will arrive in Bwindi at around 17:30 to have dinner and stay overnight.
You will wake up very early in the morning at 06:00 for breakfast. Then, you will proceed to the gorilla tracking briefing point to be briefed about the safety guidelines and be allocated to your guides and groups for the gorilla tracking. Setting off at exactly 08:00, the guide will make sure you have packed lunch and enough drinking water.
After having breakfast, you will embark on the return trip back to Kampala / Entebbe. You will have lunch en-route at Agip Motel / Igongo Cultural Centre. Then, you will have a second stop over at the Uganda Equator where you can buy souvenirs, stretch your leg, and know a few facts about the equator. Finally, you will enjoy dinner with the office tour manager before proceeding to the final leg of the trip and be dropped off at Entebbe International Airport (EBB) for your return flight.
On this safari, you will visit Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in Uganda. Uganda accounts for more than half of the remaining mountain gorillas. The only other two countries that are still the home for these great apes are the neighboring Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
In Uganda, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park has up to 12 groups / families of habituated mountain gorillas that are available for gorilla trekking expeditions. It lies in Southwestern Uganda on the edge of the Great Rift Valley.
Daily breakfast, lunch, dinner, and pure bottled drinking water will be served for you during the safari. The foods that are served are normal meat and fish. For any special dietary requirements, please communicate it early with Simba Africa Expeditions while you are making a reservation.
