The accommodation will be in midrange lodges with bed and breakfast, half-board or full-board basis in double rooms as indicated in the itinerary. On your first night, you will stay at Lake Victoria View Guest House in Entebbe; the second night at Forest Cottages in Kampala.

Moreover, the third and fourth nights will be at Lacam Lodge in Sipi Falls; the fifth, sixth and seventh nights will be at Kidepo Savannah Lodge. On your eight and ninth nights, you will stay at Heritage Lodge or similar. Finally, you will spend your last night on this tour at 2 Friends in Entebbe.

Program

Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe

Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport (EBB) in Uganda and after finalizing the formalities, you shall be welcomed by your guide who will then drive you to your hotel.

Day 2: Mabamba Swamp Tour and Kampala

Today you will have a morning visit to Mabamba Swamp where most of the birding is done by canoeing, as you look out for the rare Shoebill stork, African water rail, Allen's and purple gallinule, Squacco, Goliath, purple and grey herons, a variety of egrets, and ducks.

Later you will have a city tour through Kampala. In the evening, you will have an optional visit at Ndere Cultural Center (Wednesday, Friday, Sunday) or choose to spend your time at leisure.

Day 3: Sippi Falls

After breakfast, you will drive to Kapchorwa town and the Sipi Falls area, found at the base of Mount Elgon that is particularly famous for Bugisu Arabica coffee produced and grown by the local farmers. Bugisu Arabica only grows at an altitude of between 1,600 and 1,900 meters. It is the main cash crop in the area and genuinely one of the finest coffee in the world.

Day 4: Sipi Falls

After a breakfast, you shall have a nature walk to the Sipi Falls. These are a series of three waterfalls. You shall walk to the falls that are located at the base of Mount Elgon. In the afternoon, you will then have a coffee tour.

Day 5: Kidepo Valley National Park

Today you will drive to Kidepo National Park. The park lies in the rugged, semi-arid valleys between Uganda’s borders with Sudan and Kenya, some 700 kilometers from Kampala.

Gazetted as a national park in 1962, it has a profusion of big game and hosts over 77 mammal species as well as around 475 bird species. Kidepo is Uganda’s most isolated national park, but the few who make the long journey north agree that it is also the most magnificent, and ranks among Africa’s finest wildernesses.

Day 6: Kidepo Valley National Park

After your breakfast, start your drive through the Narus Valley where you will have a nature walk in the park. In the afternoon, you will enjoy another game drive. Kidepo National Park is a savannah landscape that extends in all directions.

Kidepo Valley National Park is home to elephant, zebra, giraffe, huge herds of buffalo, warthog, duiker, Jackson’s hartebeest, lion, leopard, cheetah, and hundreds of bird species, buffalos, and elephants.

Other animals that may be seen roaming around including Jackal Roan antelope, waterbuck, eland, oribi, klipspringer, lions, and others. The park boasts of having the highest concentration of birds endemic to Uganda like an ostrich, Kori bustard, vultures, pygmy falcon, hornbills, eagles, and a lot more wildlife animals.

Day 7: Kidepo Valley National Park

After an early morning breakfast, you will go for a cultural tour in the Karamajong community. There you will spend a wonderful evening with Karamajong people and have an insight of their way of life and beliefs.

At the end of the tour, you will be able to understand why their pride makes them slow to adapt to globalization. Late afternoon, you will have another game drive. This will also enable you to be in full sight of varieties of birds as well.

Day 8: Drive to Murchison Falls National Park

After breakfast, proceed to the next highlight of your memorable tour in Uganda. You will drive to the beautiful north-western Uganda Murchison Falls National Park.

Day 9: Murchison Falls National Park

After an early breakfast, you will have a boat ride to the Nile Delta. Keep a lookout for a variety of bird species, especially the Shoebill. In the afternoon, go for a game drive.

Drive in the open African savanna in search for lions, leopard, hyena, buffalo, elephant, Jackson hartebeest, oribi, waterbucks, Uganda Kobs. Enjoy spotting various bird species such as the secretary bird, black-chested snake eagle, tawny and marshall eagles carmine, and swallow-tailed bee-eaters.

Day 10: Murchison Falls National Park

After an early breakfast, you shall proceed for a game drive. This is a beautiful drive across the savannah, Borassus Palm Forest, and grassland down to Lake Albert where the Albert Nile heads north.

In the afternoon go for a boat ride up the Nile, to Murchison falls, hence the park derives its name. Enjoy these spectacular falls with a hike to the top of the falls where the Nile squeezes through a seven-meter gap and at the bottom bask huge Nile crocodiles.

DAY 11: Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary

After breakfast, you will proceed to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. There you shall have a walking safari to the Southern white rhinos that have been reintroduced in Uganda. Later you will drive to Entebbe.

Day 12: Entebbe

You will drive to Entebbe International Airport (EBB), catch your flight and head back home. This will be the end of your amazing tour.

Location

This tour will take place in the beautiful country of Uganda. You will visit and explore Sipi Falls, Mabamba Swamp, Kidepo National Park, Karamajong community, Murchison Falls National Park, and Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary.

Uganda is a landlocked country, bordered by Kenya in the east, Sudan in the north, Congo in the west and Rwanda and Tanzania in the south. It is an equatorial country of astonishing contrasts and straddling the equator, no other area in Africa can match its amazing diversity of habitats. Got its name from the Buganda kingdom, which encompassed a portion of the south of the country including the capital Kampala.

Sipi Falls

Sipi Falls is a series of three waterfalls in Eastern Uganda in the district of Kapchorwa, northeast of Sironko and Mbale. The waterfalls lie on the edge of Mount Elgon National Park near the Kenyan border.

Kidepo Valley National Park

Kidepo Valley National Park is a 1,442 square kilometers (557 square miles) national park in the Karamoja region in northeast Uganda. Kidepo is a rugged savannah, dominated by the 2,750 meters (9,020 feet) Mount Morungole and transected by the Kidepo and Narus rivers.

Murchison Falls National Park

Murchison Falls National Park (MFNP) is a national park in Uganda managed by the Ugandan Wildlife Authority. It is in north-western Uganda, spreading inland from the shores of Lake Albert, around the Victoria Nile, up to the Karuma Falls.

Together with the adjacent 748 square kilometres (289 square miles) Bugungu Wildlife Reserve and the 720 square kilometres (280 square miles) Karuma Wildlife Reserve, the park forms the Murchison Falls Conservation Area (MFCA).
