Day 1 - Travel to Murchison Falls National Park
After an early breakfast, you will have an early drive that passes through beautiful woodlands and savannas. This journey will take about six to seven hours, with stopovers at interesting tourist attractions en route. In the evening, you will have dinner and an overnight stay in your lodge of booking, which can be Fort Murchison camp, Murchison River Lodge camp, or Red Chili camp.
Day 2 - Game drive in Murchison Falls National Park and boat cruise on Victoria Nile
You will wake up very early and set off at 6:30 a.m. for a sunrise game drive in the Nyamsika plateau to see animals like the Cape buffalo, Rothschild’s giraffe, Uganda kob, hartebeest, and waterbuck. You may also spot the oribi, bushbuck, bohor reedbuck, sitatunga, bush duiker, warthog, bush pig, and large carnivores including lions, leopards, and spotted hyenas.
Chimpanzees and olive baboons head the list of six species of primates found in the park. Crocodiles and hippos can also be seen along the banks of the Nile. Some of the more common birds that can be viewed in this safari include the Goliath heron, Egyptian geese, pelican, bee-eater, kingfisher, hornbill, cormorant, saddle-bill stork, and the rare shoebill stork.
You will return to your lodge for a late breakfast and some relaxation before setting off in the afternoon for an upstream boat cruise on the placid Victoria Nile to reach the base of the falls. En route, you will see hippos, crocodiles, waterbucks, and a wide variety of birds including the unusual shoe-billed stork. The boat stops just tens of meters away from the Devil’s Cauldron for pictures to be taken of the majestic Murchison Falls. You will return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay which can be Fort Murchison camp, Murchison River Lodge camp, or Red Chili.
Day 3 - Visit to the top of the falls and travel back to Kampala
You will go to the top of the thunderous Murchison Falls where you will enjoy the spectacular view. Afterwards, you will proceed to Kampala and arrive there in the late afternoon. You can either depart from Uganda or choose to stay and tour the country some more.
