Make the most of your time in Rwanda by experiencing this gorilla tracking safari! This 3-days Rwanda gorilla safari is designed to suit travelers who have limited time in Rwanda. With this safari, you will track the mountain gorillas in Volcanoes National Park. Besides gorilla tracking, you will also have an opportunity to visit the memorial sites in Kigali, the capital city of Rwanda.
The maximum participants in the group is 8.
During this safari, you will stay at Kinigi Guest House or Hotel Muhabura.
The Guest House is situated in Kinigi district only 11 Km from Ruhengeri City. It is constructed at the bottom of Sabyinyo volcanic mountain with an altitude of 4,480 m. It accommodates over 40 people-all rooms have electricity and warm water. There are four VIP suites together with an ideal hall with 400 seat capacities, for conferences, seminars, weddings and other social functions.
The hotel is located north of Kigali in Musanze province opposite the Musanze district headquarters. The hotel comprises of 30 rooms and apartments that offer a cozy environment to relax in after gorilla trekking or a day visit to the Northern area of Rwanda. All rooms are self contained with warm shower and some with a bath at ground level. They all have direct access to the garden with a small individual balcony. Allrooms aer equipped with satellite T,V free WIFI-internet access and laundry service is also available.
You will be met at the airport by Saso Uganda Safaris' guide who will transfer you to the accommodation booked for you in Ruhengeri near the Volcanoes National Park. Then, you will have lunch in the afternoon and be taken for a scenic drive in the park for 2 - 3 hours to view the splendid volcanic mountain landscapes. After that, you will go back to your accommodation to have dinner and stay overnight.
After having an early breakfast, you will begin the gorilla tracking adventure. You will then be driven to the park's headquarters for a briefing at 08:30 about rules that must be observed during the gorilla tracking. The guides will lead you to track a gorilla family. The tracking will be conducted for 2 - 5 hours. After that, you will go to Kigali to have dinner and stay overnight at the hotel.
After having breakfast, you will visit the genocide memorial site where thousands of innocent people lost their lives during the genocide of the mid-1990s in Rwanda and listen to the touching narratives of how people were cruelly put to death. After that, you will have lunch and later be transferred to the airport for your departure flights.
On this safari, you will also enjoy a city tour in Kigali.
This safari will take place in Volcanoes National Park. Volcanoes National Park or “Parc National de Volcans” (known by locals as PNV) lies along the Virunga Mountains with 8 ancient volcanoes, which are shared by Rwanda, Uganda, and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Just a short two-hour drive from Rwanda’s capital of Kigali, the park is a central location for exploring some distinctly Rwandan experiences.
While gorilla tracking is often at the top of visitor’s list, the dramatic landscape also offers thrilling hiking experience. PNV is also one of Rwanda’s conservation epicenters where many non-profit organizations base their operations. Visitors can pay homage to the legendary scientist and gorilla advocate, Dian Fossey, with a hike to her tomb or visit Dian Fosse Gorilla Fund International that continues her legacy of research and advocacy to this day.
